It's Saturday night in the waning Summer of Ra. Time for another Doctor Who episode!
Tonight's episode is Androids of Tara, the fourth story of the Key to Time series. Getting the piece is easy, its the political infighting on Tara that makes it harder to hold.
In other news, I am returning to Ruin tonight. If you want to meet the author of this Blog, find me there. (Probably dancing in the dark with some Muses or to paraphrase Jimmy Buffett, rule the world from the terrace of the Monte Cristo)
This week, I should finish the speech for the Fall. It is titled: Salesmanship, Sun Tzu and Star Wars: Retaking the LA Basin for 2012 and Beyond.
I am also waiting to hear news regarding my internship. But my late father, a salesman, had a saying: No actual business got done in the last weeks of the Summer or at the End of the year.
He was right.
OK, enough pretense; Enjoy the Androids of Tara!

Playing the Gibson Guitar Blues
This is LA.
Not only the land of TV and Movies, this is also the land of the Musician.
I'm please to know a band, Many of Odd Nature (Sign them to a record label! They rock!). So, when Federal Agents shut down Gibson Guitar factories in two states, it makes this Political Strategist/Blogger stand up and focus.
Let me quote from the Gibson Guitar Press Release:
"The Federal Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. has suggested that the use of wood from India that is not finished by Indian workers is illegal, not because of U.S. law, but because it is the Justice Department’s interpretation of a law in India. (If the same wood from the same tree was finished by Indian workers, the material would be legal.) This action was taken without the support and consent of the government in India.
"On August 24, 2011, around 8:45 a.m. CDT, agents for the federal government executed four search warrants on Gibson’s facilities in Nashville and Memphis and seized several pallets of wood, electronic files and guitars. Gibson had to cease its manufacturing operations and send workers home for the day, while armed agents executed the search warrants. Gibson has fully cooperated with the execution of the search warrants, "
Let us note that the law that Obama's DOJ is following comes from India.
In this era of the Age of Contraction, I thought it was the American Government's job to protect, oh, I don't know, American business' from sea to shining sea.
And guess what musicians in LA and beyond? The Obama DOJ hit Gibson back in November 2009. Read:
"Agents armed with warrants searched the Nashville factory of Gibson Guitars as part of a crackdown on the illegal use of endangered woods, authorities said.
"U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service agents served the warrants on the company Tuesday at its manufacturing plant for electric and acoustic guitars, The (Nashville) Tennessean reported.
"Exotic hardwoods used in high-end guitars, such as Brazilian rosewood, have become a focus of strict controls because of rainforest depletion. Trading in such woods is a federal offense, the paper said.
"The company said in a statement it has done nothing wrong and is "fully cooperating with agents … as it pertains to an issue with harvested wood."
"Environmentalists were surprised by the search, saying Gibson is an industry leader in using only sustainable woods."
And what does Gibson's CEO has to say?
The most important thing he said: "Every guitar we build is a Criminal violation,"
November 2009 and August 2011, this what Environmentalists do to jobs. And they're killing the music, man!
As we venture towards 2012, I want my musician friends to know that some of my candidates (on the Right side of the aisle) will keep the music playing.
Remember, the Democrats is the party of Tipper Gore's Parents Resource Music center. Vice president Gore attacked musicians to raise his profile.
We on the Right just want you to play. And play it LOUD!
So, to all my up and coming musician friends, will you stand up to the Environmentalists to let the music play? or will you wait for the Democratic senator ready to use your industry as an Emmanuel Goldstein?
My question: Will you musicians join us at RPLAC and the CAGOP to stand up against these raids?
And now, some good LOUD music!

Alarums and Excursions: If the Sybil Could See Today
Dictator Sulla with his proscription lists |
Before Sulla rose to become Dictator, there was a sign:
"On 6 July 83 BC the largest building in Rome was struck by lightning. The ancient temple of Jupiter loomed on the summit of Capitoline Hill. Here, beneath a ceiling sheathed in gold, amid trophies of statues and shields, the guardian of Rome had his shrine. back in the distant days of Kings, excavators digging the temple's foundation had found a human head. Augurers, summoned to determine this wonder, had explained it foretold Rome's future as head of the world.Who could doubt, then, that it was Jupiter who had guided the Republic to its greatness? No wonder that the Senate should choose to hold its first meeting every year in the sanctum of the G-d. This was where Roman power was touched by the divine.
"But now Jupiter had decided to destroy his own temple with a thunderbolt. This was not a promising omen. It hardly required the Sibylline books to reveal that -- which was just as well, since they too were going up in the blaze. But what was the G-ds anger?"
-- Rubicon by Tom Holland, pg 82
This week, Washington, DC is in line with two forces of nature:
First, the earthquake that cracked the Washington Monument:
And now Hurricane Irene is soon to strike the same region.
Where are the Augurers today? Or a Sybil to note the trends? Are there more plagues of Egypt to enter the Beltway?
My own theory is that America cracked after the Connecticut Senatorial primary of 2006 -- Senator Lieberman was thrown out of the Democratic party for working across the aisle with the President of the other side. Precedent was created.
The tea party groups (Fiscal Conservatives all) are being slammed just like the Social Conservatives of the 1990's were. Rep. Waters (D-CA) telling them to "Go to Hell," is not the road to civility.
In the last Administration, the Democrats called forth their hate against an American president who believed in Wilsonianism. It was what the Democrats believed in under Reagan and Bush pere (and FDR, Truman, JFK and LBJ). Did the Democrats sacrifice their soul for power?
Before Caesar crossed the Rubicon, Sulla brought his troops to Rome in 88. The precedent was set.
My question: Is this foreshadowing something worse? Or has the die already been cast?

Four Candidates for 2012 and Four Alternate X-Men Histories to Guide them
In September, there will be a straw poll at the California Republican Party Fall Convention. As a voting delegate, I hope every announced and non-announced candidate comes to Los Angeles and asks the delegates for the vote. Please note this post gives the basis for my pre-requisites or in other words, Senators don't make good Presidents.
There are 55 Electoral votes if you win over the Southland, so if you work or know a Presidential campaign, show up.
Now, I am going to write the two candidates I like and two (plus one extra) I don't. And to make it interesting, I will compare them to some X-men series that match each one. They are all Alternate Histories, so my geekiness is multiplied to the 50th square. Enjoy!
Ready? Let's go!
Governor Palin (R-Alaska)
I already wrote here why I support Governor Palin. She is a street fighter, and she has worked as a Governor, she's not a social Conservative and she supports a few issues I support. Why House of M?
In all the X-men Alternate worlds, this is the closest to ours where mutants live normal lives. If she wins, it would be Karmic Justice if she defeats President Obama. And all the Left, whose head exploded when a non-Ivy President was elected in 1980 and 1984, will freak out again.
Governor Gary Johnson (R- NM)
Governor Gary Johnson is the modern Libertarian candidate. (Forget the Pauls, they are the past). Here is one of the views I like:
My question: Which candidate should I cast my straw poll vote for and why?

Governor Palin (R-Alaska)
House of M |
In all the X-men Alternate worlds, this is the closest to ours where mutants live normal lives. If she wins, it would be Karmic Justice if she defeats President Obama. And all the Left, whose head exploded when a non-Ivy President was elected in 1980 and 1984, will freak out again.
Governor Gary Johnson (R- NM)
Neil Gaiman's X-Men of 1602 |
Governor Gary Johnson is the modern Libertarian candidate. (Forget the Pauls, they are the past). Here is one of the views I like:
ACCESS TO THE INTERNET MUST NOT BE taxed.
THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT SHOULD NOT RESTRICT COMMERCE that doesn't hurt anyone.
And other views:
THE U.S. IS BORROWING OR PRINTING MORE than 40 cents of every dollar the government spends today. The math is simple: Federal spending must be cut not by millions or billions, but by trillions. And it must be done today.
THE U.S. TAX SYSTEM IMPOSES AN ENORMOUS toll on productivity through high marginal rates, absurd complexity, loopholes for the well-connected, and incentives for wasteful decisions. The government must lower the tax burden to stimulate the economy.
So why do I compare Gov. Johnson to the 1602 X-men? Because like them, they live simply. As the Witchbreed hid from the Spanish Inquisition, so is Libertarianism hiding among the Republicans. There are little disagreements on foreign policy, but I am willing to cast my straw poll vote for him too.
(and one of my cool friends liked him -- she is a Muse who I talked about briefly here. If she supports him, I'm willing to listen).
Now the two negatives (+ one extra):
Governor Romney (R-MA)
Age of Apocalypse |
In this future, the mutants rule, but only one: Apocalypse. He is equivalent to Romney. Romney has hired some of Meg Whitman's staff, so thus, if Romney wins in 2012, ONLY Romney will win, forget about keeping the Congress. If you have funds, votes or support, bring them to someone who will respect the local activists and Bloggers. In the Southland, we saw what Whitman did, Romney will follow and every GOP candidate loses.
Governor Huntsman (R-UT)
Days of Future Past |
There has never been a President, post FDR, who was a member of a prior Administration that was of the opposite party. Ask Ambassador Lodge how well he did in the 1964 primaries. And the fact that he is the "Republican candidate who attacks other Republicans," is not the way to win a Primary. Only the Sprawl Media like him -- but when has the Sprawl media ever concerned itself with what Republicans think?
Now why this future? A mutant assassinated Senator Robert Kelly and created an America ran by Sentinels that are ready to destroy the world. Only the X-men who are left are trying to stop them. Huntsman is that mutant that will cause havoc for other mutants. I have not found anyone within the LA basin or in the Blogosphere who supports him. He should shut down his campaign now and work full time for the Obama Administration.
And in case you think I am ruling out Mormons (I'm not -- I don't care about peoples religions in public life, however) Read on.....
Governor Perry (R-TX)
Here Comes Tomorrow |
In this future, Beast (a former ally) becomes a dangerous ruler of what's left of Planet Earth. The reason I oppose Governor Perry is because he is a Social Conservative. I'm a Social Libertarian, even President Bush did not focus on Social issues. G-d Bless Texas, but, I'm not a fan of Perry (or any more Bushes for a generation).
OK, at the CAGOP Convention I will be under Reagan's Eleventh commandment, but now, I said my piece.
My question: Which candidate should I cast my straw poll vote for and why?

Winning by Middling (Or President Obama's Libyan Adaventure)
"Once they made History; Now they are History!" |
Here is the thing:
President Obama is NOT a Wilsonian in foreign policy. I can't find any speech saying how much he supports those under the hands of dictators around the world. Think back to the Iran protests.
Nor did President Obama appeal to the US Congress to use the War Powers Act; Nor did any Liberal protest on how the Libyan "war," was illegal. After 1/20/09, there ARE no protests.
President Obama, like Bill and Ted, did the right thing by mistake. The Old leadership of Libya might be gone, but do we know what philosophies the new leadership follows?
No we don't, and neither does President Obama. Maybe he is re-thinking his opposition to President Bush and the Iraq War.
I doubt it.
Here is a message for those Leftists who wish to oppose the next Republican Presidents foreign policy:
Bill and Ted in the Future!
My question: What is the Obama Administration basis for foreign policy? Please give examples.

Rick Deckard is Human: The End of a Silly Debate
In 1982, my dad and I went to the movie theatre in Forest Hills, NY to catch the Harrison Ford (i.e. Han Solo) flick: Blade Runner.
It was a vision of the future with the lilt of Vangelis' music behind it. Look at Los Angeles Cityscape of 2019:
It seems almost every Harrison Ford sci-fi character has some controversy. To the original Star Wars fans, there is only one thing that happened in the Cantina: Han shot Greedo first. Yes, George Lucas was wrong in his re-makes.
Now with director Ridley Scott's threat of making a sequel (Ridley, don't.) , let's go back to a silly debate throughout the Geekosphere.
Some folks argue that Deckard is a Replicant. No, no and NO!
Those same folks need to understand that Hamlet in Klingon is not really Shakespeare. Nor is Klingon a real language.
And also, directors sometimes mislead their audience to get people to re-watch their films. (Do you hear me, Ridley?)
Here are some very simple reasons Deckard is a human being (some meta-references may apply [Spoilers Ahead]):
1) In the very early edition, when Deckard was doing the film noir voiceover, he talks about an ex-wife calling him "sushi," No replicant remembered any exes. They only understood the here and now. Their pictures and false memories showed childhood, not adulthood.
2) The Replicants all looked slick with the edge of Punk; Deckard look haggard and tired. Come and see:
3) Deckard felt pain when he was attacked. Remember Leon's "Wake up! Time to die!" speech? Deckard got hurt (after he chased and was almost beat up by Zhora). Pris nearly killed him before Roy broke his fingers. Replicants don't feel pain.
4) Going back to Leon's attack: Leon knows his time is limited (Roy Batty's quest within Tyrell Corporation), but knows that Deckard can live longer. Also, why would a replicant try to kill another Replicant? (Rachel did kill Leon protect Deckard following Asimov Three Rules of Robotics)
5) When Deckard went to Tyrell Corporation and met Eldon Tyrell, Tyrell would know his own product (i.e Rachel and Roy Batty). He did not know Deckard.
6) Read the opening crawl. Replicants were banned from Earth following a rebellion off-world (hence the creation of Blade Runners!).
7) When Roy saves Deckard on the rooftop, if he saves Deckard the human, it is redemption of his own Electronic soul (hence the "Tears in rain," speech); If Deckard is a replicant, there is no redemption.
My question: Can you prove to me that Deckard is a Replicant? Good luck!

The Technological Singularity and the American Polity 3: How to make it Real
Here is Part 1: AI's
Here is Part 2: Uploaded Minds
And now, we close out the summer with Part 3 -- Bringing the Polity of the Mind and AI's to move American fortunes forward!
There are a few places in the US where private firms work on technological progress; Outside the Bay Area up North, Route 128 in MA and Seattle (where you find Steampunk Queen, Cherie Priest and Goth Etiquette expert, Lady of the Manners). The Venture Capitalists for the future are based in these Tech areas, but here in the Valley, the question is how to bring the American Polity into the future?
As I have argued in the last two parts, the Democratic Party would subject the AI's and our Uploaded Minds to be controlled by the State; Republicans care about freeing the AI's and allowing people living in the Polity of the Mind to live under the same US Constitution as the meatspace folk live today.
Now, that's the endgame: How do we move the Technology into the future with Congress, White House, and State Houses and Governors?
Here is where I tell all the Venture Capitalists to invest in the Southland, the land of the Social Libertarian. If enough of our candidates win (with a President Palin or President Gary Johnson), the technology (and the Singularity) can move ahead.
Moore's law stops when the Economy is in shambles. (and the Democrats have not passed any budgets since 2007, not with both branches, and not with the current Senate)
The first step is a Bill: turning an American city into William Gibson's Chiba City. This can only be done with Republicans owning both Houses of Congress and the White House (and again, only with a President Palin or President Gary Johnson). I would suggest a tech area ready to expand -- either Seattle or some edge of Silicon Valley.
The next step is for the Technological Free Zone to work with the State and federal areas. Unfortunately, to quote John Lennon:
(If you drive a car ),I’ll tax the street,
(If you try to sit ), I’ll tax your seat,
(If you get too cold ), I’ll tax the heat,
(If you take a walk ), I’ll tax your feet.Taxman.
With the corporate supporters of the "Technological Free Zone," they can bring in minor Government Oversight (very Libertarian/Republican -- a Government that helps commerce and advancing technology) such as a Patent office and other agencies (again working with the backers of the Zone) to decide how much taxes the Zone would pay to keep out interference.
Between the patents and the Rise of the new Technologicals (i.e. AI's), the Government gets their cut.
Third Step: After the AI's are created in the "Technological Free Zone," the local Government should give them citizenship. Limit their range to the Free Zone and allow them to grow. After five years, they should be working with (not slaves of) the Federal Government to go back to the stars.
Fourth Step: Within the Technological Free Zone, test out the Four year old AI's with the people trying the head within the Uploads. Before every Uploaded Polity begins, all humans get their own version of the US Constitution to work with The rules within the US Constitution should apply to every Polity of the Mind started from the Technological Free Zones to the rest of the country.
Fifth and Final Step: America takes the Technology from the Free Zones, works with the AI's and creates some Polities of the Mind to travel to the stars to look for inhabitable worlds.
And thanks to American technology (and Republicans in Congress and in the White House to free Commerce), the Singularity Rises!
My question: After reading all these parts, how would you bring the Technological Singularity to the American Public (before Brazil, Russia, China or India does it first)?

Open Letter to Dr. John Deasy, Chairman, LAUSD
Dear Dr. Deasy:
My family is very tight -- when my late father died, we all pulled together. When my disease started acting up, my Mom and my sister both helped me through that rough time.
Now, after hearing from my Mom on the phone, she is upset and I will be writing on my public blog (with its respective national and international audience) to help her. If you can help her too, I would have no need to write this post.
Back in March, my Mom had only two minutes to decide to leave the Baudry Office (where she worked hard and had lots of friends); you moved her to a school with no way of her to go back. Now, my Mom (like many in the school she works in) is leaving the "institutional memory," behind because of a bureaucratic decision that had no understanding of the people affected.
In my realm of politics, that means more votes for me and my people (Los Angeles Republicans) because your personnel commission do not care about their own staff. My Mom is a member of the clerical staff and I have seen her work her heart out wherever she has been -- but there is no reason to send any staffer more then 10 miles away from their comfort zone without consulting them. And last I checked, my Mom was not consulted. All she wants is to go back to her "A" basis back in Baudry.
So, some bureaucrats with no way of contacting staff from across the LA Basin, decided to make a decision to kill each schools "Institutional memory," Without "Institutional Memory," each school has to re-learn how to run smoothly for the students, parents and teachers. All done without speaking directly to the staff about these changes.
How many parents have opted out of LAUSD because of its arrogance and uncaring attitudes? These are taxpayers who could bring good things, but they are scared because of the bureaucracy.
Throughout the basin, I know many candidates (local and national) who want to reform LAUSD and how much monies it recieves. Does having no contact with staff, losing each schools "institutional memory," stop these Refiormers from going forward? Not if I have anything to do with it.
In NYC, the largest school system in the world, they broke up their districts so each student can get local support. Every chance of Reform thus far is blocked by the UTLA. Every reform.
Here's the thing, LAUSD is hiring Executives that make $100,000 or more while slighting the clerical and teachers. Without clerical and teachers, you have no LAUSD.
My Mom has told me she reached out to you many, many times.
All she wants is her "A" basis back at Baudry, and yet, she could not be accommodated. So, do you have power as Chairman or not? And someone needs to tell the personnel commission to speak with everyone they affect or that means more votes for my people on this internal corruption.
So, on this national and internationally known Blog, I am making an appeal for you to make things right. Help my Mom and stand up for the clerical staff against the bureaucrats that don't care.
Your move Mr. Chairman.
Sincerely,
JSF
PS: My Mom and I tried the school food at her current place and both of us got sick. If it happened to two adults, what about the kids? Maybe you should open up the LAUSD food to Trimana or the Food Network to help each student get a healthy meal.

UPDATE 8/18/11 8:45PM: The message from Chairman Deasy was simply: If you are Clerical staff, he does not care about you. And fighting the corruption, the bad food or for the students? He does not care.
Chairman.
Sincerely,
JSF

Meeting the Valley's Readers in Clubs
First off, a hat tip my friend Vicktor from Las Vegas! Thanks for coming out to Bar Sin to meet with me.
Viktor was normal of the Valley's readership -- I met him (and his crew) in a club.
Either I meet the Valley's readers in a Political Club (SFVRC, Westside GOP or RPLAC) or a Goth Club (mainly, Ruin).
I want to thank everyone I've met through this Blog; Everyone who reads the Valley is smart and engaging. I've met readers who disagree with some of my posts. Again, I usually get a coherent answer and enjoy the give and take.
The Valley attracts readers from a few differing groups, the Intelligence Community (or those who "work in the Dark,"), Beltway activists, House and Senate staff and staffers within the Executive Branch Agencies, California and Los Angeles Republicans and Goths (or those who "dance in the dark,")
You can always find me in a Goth club (be it in LA or DC, but Ruin/Malediction is my Gothy home) or a Political club.
If you read the Valley and are visiting LA, email me and I'll find you! If you live in LA, say "Hello!"
I am very proud of the readers of the Valley!
Thank you all for reading and visiting!

Doctor Who -- Stones of Blood
Saturday night and Doctor Who is back!
Tonight is the third part of the Key to Time series. The Stones of Blood has Druids, Stone Circles and mysterious warnings.
Meanwhile, in the real world, I sent out the First draft of my internship for the Fall. Also, the Malibu Fundraiser is being created and this week I am writing my speech for October. And let's not forget that I will be at the CRP Convention in LA this September.
Tonight, I will be at Bar Sin, meeting two Goth readers of the Valley. That is awesome. You can find me back at Ruin in the fall.
And, now, enjoy the Stones of Blood!

Repeat After Me: Joint Committee NOT "Super-Congress"
The power of language.
If I didn't spend time in DC, interning on Capitol Hill and keeping in touch with my mentors from that realm, I would easily fall for the "Super-Congress," or "Super-Committee," chorus.
There is no such thing as a "Super Congress," or "Super Committee,"
Congressional members do not run to the cloakroom and put on tights and a cape (and if they do, I hope they do it on their own time, not the taxpayers); their are multiple Joint Committees in Congress that work on the mundane and the policy changing.
First, read the definitions of Joint Committee:
-- The Congress Dictionary by Paul Dickson and Paul Clancy, pub.1993; pg 179.
"Committees including membership from both houses of Congress. Joint committees are usually established with narrow jurisdictions and normally lack authority to report legislation. Chairmanship usually alternates between the House and Senate members from Congress to Congress."
-- United States Senate website
The Current List of Joint Committees in Congress are:
Joint Committee on Printing;
Joint Committee on Taxation;
Joint Committee on the Library;
Joint Economic Committee
If the Library of Congress and Congressional Committees are "Super-Congress'" then they all are.
So, next time someone says "There is a Super-Congress," or "Super-Committee," ask them if the bill printing makes one "Super,"
My question: Why do people get their own Government wrong?

"A House-Senate panel with a common purpose....Some, like the Joint Committee on Printing, have purely housekeeping functions. In 1992, in the midst of what some called institutional gridlock, Congress set up the Joint Committee on the Organization of Congress,"

Summer 2011 POP! (with Music!)
Let us harken back to days of yore, when the Valley was still breathing its first.
Now whilst I have been busy in real time, many things have happened which I will address (in separate posts at some point -- I hope).
Now get ready to POP! (with music):
1) America loses a Credit Grade -- Policy --
Trading Places, Commodities Scene
Now, a tune:
Billy Idol, Mony, Mony
Politically, it damages President Obama and the democrats for 2012. Not only have Democrats not passed an Appropriations bill since 2007 (Neither House nor Senate), now with their Power in the White House and the Upper House, they couldn't stop the Unemployment rate from rising.
President Obama was hired to fix the economy in 2008. He failed with a large Democratic majority. hence the rise of the NEW Fiscal Conservatives, the Tea Party. President Obama, to paraphrase Pig Killer in Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome, there is no plan to fix the economy.
Welcome to the Age of Contraction.
2) The UK Riots -- Policy
The Clash, Guns of Brixton
It's August; tensions are high in this Age of Contraction, and a young man, Mark Duggan was killed by the MPD. Riots and alarms have broken out across the English cities.
I retweeted something from one of my favorite underrated British actor, Noel Clarke (Mickey on Doctor Who). He tweeted simply:
#Stoptheriots.
And this was a later tweet:
We're supposed to fight for honour, pride. #London. you are better than this. young people you are better than this. We are better than this
Even in this Age of Contraction, for civilization (old and new), let the Law will out on those involved. Everyone else, keep calm and carry on. The UK is one of my favorite places, please keep it in one piece until I visit. Thank you.
3) The Wisconsin Recalls, pt 1. -- Politics:
Phil Collins, I Missed Again
After the Democrats ran away from voting on a budget issue; allowed people to trash the Wisconsin capitol and then force an election not long after the last scheduled one, what were they thinking?
Well, the Democrats lost 4 of the 6 races to take over the WI Senate and the race for the State Supreme Court. Maybe they can't take a hint..... (h/t to the Althouse Blog for following all the news)
Cooler heads always prevail. Protests had a by-sell date of 1974. That's done now.
And that's all the POP for tonight!
My question: Did I miss anything? I'll add it here.

Leftists Don't like Jews or Israel
My cousin, Jason Kueller, did a comedy special for HBO called: Goodbye Yellow Brick Joke (Buy it -- Funny Jewish humor) and one line that always cracks me up was when he described his time as a car salesman (because none of the Major Philosophy factories were hiring!). Another salesman asked if he tried to put the moves on a beautiful married customer.
Jason did the Honorable thing and mentioned she had a ring. His compatriot said back: Rings don't plug holes. A nonsensical statement that made things worse. So was what came through my comment page.
After I did my Pam Geller/Glenn Greenwald post, Bill Owen, Canadian, whinged around the Valley and Salon to complain that I attacked Glenn Greenwald. Mr Owen, here is a hint: If you put yourself on the Political battlefield and attack my friends, I return (rhetorical) fire.
And proving the point that "Rings don't plug holes," Here is someone from Salon:
"Pamela Geller is a virulent ugly Zionist bigot and Oslo is exactly what she and her Zionist friends pray for every night before bed, crazy Christian Zionists to do her "heavy lifting".
"You're a fool carrying her stinky water, if there were no issue with her bigotry then you would have no need to make this post."
That anonymous writer is NOT A CONSERVATIVE. (Nor can they read, Pam Geller is working on reforming Islam, not eliminating it -- Leftists think they know it all)
A Liberal would defend the existence of the Jewish State;
A Leftist wishes it ill.
Next time someone says the Left supports the Jews, note the above comment. (or you can listen to KPFK and hear the same things)
They don't.
I believe that Greenwald could learn and change (hence, why I am a Conservative)-- will his sycophants?

Doctor Who -- The Pirate Planet
For your summer viewing please, I bring you a Doctor Who episode!
Tonight, we watch the second part of The Key to Time series. This episode is called The Pirate Planet. Guess who wrote this episode? Douglas Adams of the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy series.
Romana and the Doctor are on Zanak to find the planet Calafrex. Join the search!
In my own life, the Malibu Fundraiser idea has gone off, it will be made real by this Fall -- I am finishing the proposal for the CRP for my internship. Many things are afoot. I write, therefore I create. And because I am in the Political world, I like to see my theories play out in the real world.
Los Angeles is my canvas, but changing the world is my goal.
Now, enjoy the Pirate Planet!

Bring Robert McCain to Los Angeles for the CAGOP Convention!
This September, the Valley News Network will re-awaken!
Here in beautiful, sunny Los Angeles is the sight of the Southern Convention of the California Republican Party. Even though I am one of the few Media people who can vote, the media still lacks a Gonzo presence.
So consider this post a chance to help RS get to LA in September to do Gonzo reporting. Hit his Tip Jar!
I hope everyone joins me there!

History will look Kindly on Pamela Geller not Glenn Greenwald
First off, let me say I support Pamela Geller. When I was putting together the Southland Fundraiser last Election cycle, she was the ONLY person I wanted to speak. If the Fundraiser comes back this cycle, the same rule applies.
Two days ago, I read this tweet by Glenn Greenwald:
Glenn Greenwald is known in the Blogosphere for Sock-pupetting on Pattericos site. That's sin #1
Glenn Greenwald ALWAYS takes the side of Hezbollah and Hamas over Israel -- even after the ONLY Jewish State gave back Gaza and only got Missiles in return. A true Sonderkommando. Sin #2
Shakespeare: "Brevity is the soul of wit," Strunk and White, "Omit needless words," Apparently Glenn Greenwald's third sin is due to Vizzini syndrome. And I quote:
Vizzini: Let me put it this way. Have you ever heard of Plato, Aristotle, Socrates?
Man in Black: Yes.
Vizzini: Morons.
As I said earlier in the Valley, the newly dead should never be politicized. And the Left, following suit as they did in Sparkman, West Virginia; Arizona and now Norway wants to tie every member of the Right to the crazies.
But there is an even more important difference between my friend, Pam Geller and Glenn Greenwald:
She stays and fights, Glenn Greenwald imitates Brave Sir Robin of Monty Python:
Glenn Greenwald wanted Gay marriage to be the norm in the United States. As a Social libertarian, I see no issue here. As a partisan, I see a weak person who won't even stay in his own country and fight for what he believes in. He expects others to do the heavy lifting. Speaking to partisans who think the same way you do on TV, radio and the Internet does not expand converts. (nor does sock-puppeting).
I voted No on 8; I support any two consenting adults to be happy. But every time Andrew Sullivan attacks Palin's family, I always have to rethink that vote.
Now, compare Greenwald to Pam Geller.
Pam Geller is a New York Jew who cares about the survival of the ONLY Jewish state and supporting a Reformation (not elimination) of Islam. Greenwald does not believe Muslim Countries should share in the Democracy franchise.
Pamela Geller cares about women and girls dying in the Muslim (and Western) world who die from Honor killing. Greenwald does not care about the "people," that do not think like he does.
She stands and fights. She took a neighborhood issue and brought it to light. She spoke in front of cheering crowds. Has Greenwald ever stood and fought? No, he runs away.
One thing that is true of Greenwald: He wants to uphold the Rights of those who try to kill innocents and attack those who try to protect their Countries (The Pali Territories are not full States -- if they built less bombs and more schools, it might actually be. But no, Greenwald supports kids strapping bombs to attack Israeli citizens).
Greenwald would rather attack our brave men and women of the Intelligence Agencies and former Administrations rather then support them. Even Joe Klein (whom I also dislike) challenged Greenwald to come out of his cocoon.
Hello Vizini syndrome! Greenwald does not deign to ever learn anything new. He is Right and anyone who opposes him is evil.
He doesn't even believe in Pam Geller's free speech rights. I don't think Greenwald has ever read the First Amendment.
Anyone who cites Greenwald to me cites a Political loser who cannot even open his mind to new facts or stand and fight for his beliefs.
So, to my friend Pam, keep your eye on stopping Honor killings and Reforming Islam, history will look kindly on your good deeds.
Meanwhile, Greenwald will continue to hide in his Liberal cocoon and never stand and fight for his beliefs in the American Polity.
Pamela Geller, to quote Instapundit, is a true Army of David (so is DatechGuy, RS Mccain, Ann Althouse and Joy McCann in their own Bloggy realms). Greenwald needs a Goliath of news media and Liberal establishment to support his views.
Who will care about Greenwald's ramblings in 50 years from today? He writes and says the same thing again and again. He hates the Right and anyone who does not like he does.
My question: How will History remember Geller and Greenwald?
UPDATE 2:00PM PST: Linked by RS and DaTechGuy! Thanks!

Welcome back Congresswoman Giffords!
In the final act of the Debt debate, Congresswoman Giffords returned to cast a vote.
The Valley welcomes her back and wishes her the best of health. May she cast many more votes this Congress!
(A lesson for the Left while we're here: Play nice with others. it ain't rocket science)

August 2011 Tip Jar Starring Asia Argento!
It's the first week in August, so it's time to hit the Tip Jar!
Also, BIG props to RS McCain for hitting the Tip Jar last month. If he could do it, so can you!
This month, I am trying to raise $300; And like every Tip Jar post, a picture of a Gothy Muse -- this month is Asia Argento. Other Rule 5's have bland American blondes. Here in the Valley, we have the Dark Muses (some of whom with tattoos). Every Muse I pick for the Tip jar post carries that darkness. (Plus I get hits on the Tip Jar since I started) Enjoy!
Now let's meet Asia Argento!
She is the daughter of Italian Director Dario Argento and she starred in "Land of the Dead," "XxX," (with Vin Diesel,) and "New Rose Hotel," (based on William Gibson's short story). An underrated actress, but very cool.
Now, enjoy the pictures:
