President Obama -- Not a Leader. House Leader Eric Cantor -- A Statesman

There is a saying in Washington, DC:

"The boys and girls in this town want to be something; The Men and Women want to do something,"

President Obama is the former, and House Leader Cantor (and Senate Minority leader McConnell) is the latter.

Look at these debt negotiation in DC (Which even has its own soundtrack)....

A few days ago, President Obama said he would stop funding Social security if the Debt Ceiling was not raised.

And on the other side of the table, the Congressional Republicans (and Tea Partiers on the Hill and the Hinterlands) will not subscibe to any tax raises.

Why?

Simple history folks.  The last Republican President who reneged on his tax pledge was voted out quickly.  That was President George H.W. Bush.  No Elected Republican wants to go through that again.  We remember.

(And don't give me that false cry of "You need Moderate Republicans to win," HW and Senator McCain were and the New York Times did not endorse either man.  Thus, that cry is not to be listened to anymore.  Hence, bye-bye Governors Romney and Huntsman).

And now President Obama walked out.

This would not have been a problem if the Democratic Congress' had  actually  passed some Appropriation bills when they ran the place, but nope.

As I asked many times before, what does President Obama stand for? What would he sacrifice his Political capital on?   What would Democrats?  To this day, I still don't know.

If President Obama was President Reagan, he would call every House and Senate member and see what carrot and sticks could work, but that takes work.

I'm sure President Palin will do the job in 2013.

My question: What does President Obama and the modern Democrats stand for? What would they spend their Political capital on?
