Thank you Jimmy Buffett for the song: One Particular Harbor.
And welcome back to the Parrot head Political News Network! Another invisible Primary, you ask? Because Florida moved it's date before Super Tuesday, the Democrats disowned it. The Republicans allowed the "Winner take all" state to offer half of it's delegates to the Convention -- thus proving once again: Democrats don't believe in Democracy.
Here are the results.
Senator McCain received endorsements from Governor Crist and Senator Mel Martinez; Senator Obama received an important endorsement from Senator Edward Kennedy. Even though Obama lost and McCain won. Each party had different rules.
McCain attacked Romney as a "Liberal" and caused him to come in second. There are underpinning of dismay if McCain is the nominee from Conservative quarters. This will be discussed at another time.
Meanwhile, Mayor Giuliani who doubled down and went all in, came in third. He gave up his campaign and yours truly must decide who to support by next Tuesday: Romney or McCain? I will accept any comment to help me decide.
Why is there no Huckabee? He is created by the Clintons -- No Democrat will decide the Republican Party's fate. Period.
Don't forget to read Jason's take on the Primary! Until Super Tuesday, here is something to remember Florida by:

Welcome back to Political News Networks. Here is Jason's version of last nights Primary.
Senator Obama won South Carolina; Followed by Senator Clinton and native son, Senator Edwards. Here are the results.
Interesting notes from South Carolina:
1) Senator Clinton did not campaign here; Her husband did. And after Senator Obama's win, President Clinton tried to denigrate the win.
2) From the Right, Rush Limbaugh notices, the Clintons are going to use this loss as a new version of the "Southern Strategy". Even if you disagree with the man, Read the link.
3) The Clintons attacks on Senator Obama is backfiring among Democratic faithful. Even Caroline Kennedy has endorsed Senator Obama.
Next: As Tim Russert said in 2000, "Florida, Florida, Florida,"

Open Letter to the WGA
Please join in the Valley of the Shadow Annual Fundraiser. We are raising $7,700. Please hit the Tip Jar here to contribute. Thank you.
-------------------------------------------------
Dear WGA,
As a writer myself, I support the ideal of your cause;
As a family member of two relatives who work on a major show, I want to say ease the rhetoric and help the Below the Line [BTL] people get back to work;
As a consumer of TV and movies, I say, stay on strike, nothing original has been written for years. (ba-da-bump)
Throughout these three months, I have heard issues that you should fight for: Residuals and new platforms. Keep fighting for that. Writers should also be allowed to work on set; It is your words the actors and directors are using.
However, I notice the WGA never has strikers outside on Fridays or near Holidays or (until today) rainy weather. Most labor strikes occur under every condition if they want your job back under better conditions. You're not seriously fighting for it unless every working day you are out there.
As a Conservative Republican partisan, I won't go into the fact that most shows and movies are interchangeable. The hero is always a Liberal; the Antagonist is always a Conservative. Always. I won't mention how few Republicans get a chance to write for Hollywood due to a reverse Blacklist. Let us not forget that Senator McCarthy died in the 50's and we are in a new millennium now. Yet you folks still hold a grudge.
I won't discuss how hewing to one vision of the world limits the audience. As Moveon.com and Code Pink do not understand, making noise for the sake of making noise equates to not one extra vote for your cause. How many Anti-Iraq war movies came out? How many made budget in the United States? We, who are Conservatives and Republicans are willing to pay for product that appeals to us as well; But I think we are forgotten by the same writers on strike.
Enough with the politics, for now.
In the past three months, with help from the Screen Actors Guild [SAG], you have solidarity in the strike. The DGA made a deal, and the WGA expected a White Horse to save both Guilds. Has the top earning SAG and WGA members made a fund for all the BTL Guilds? Has Sean Penn contributed? Has William Goldman? Has Ed Asner? Has Paul Haggis? The answer is: No.
Hollywood is already dealing with the issue of Runaway Production. When you go back to the table with the Producers [AMPTP], why don't you offer a solution on how to keep jobs in Los Angeles? The networks are losing audience. I discussed why earlier in the political side in the rant. Maybe you can be the first Guild to open up to other Political views. You might get a swath of Red State supporters if you do.
Every Guild in Hollywood does not want to lose audience to Radio, Video games or Blogs. Why not offer solutions to these crisis? You're writers. The smartest Guild in the bunch. Actors follow your words; Directors have to learn to write a script first before the get behind the camera. Everyone in Hollywood knows this. Offer a solution at the table, and you might get double what you asked for.
Also, if you let SAG strike in the Spring, Hollywood might end up like the Parrot in Monty Python; Books will make a larger comeback. Hollywood must produce content, but it must be good content. I know you folks can do it.
Be better than the AMPTP. Negotiate fully. Offer long term solutions. Stop SAG from striking.
People from the BTL and your audiences are depending on you.
Sincerely,
JSF

Sorry for dropping out again, but here is the news on the Home front:
1) Car eats Apartment Money. If you own an old car, you know the hassles and troubles of maintaining it. So, still maintained, still going. But I have to save all over again. Ugh.
2) Book Status:
On the Non-fiction Book: Messages from the Valley -- I have gotten past the table of Contents, the Introduction and the first chapter. The Second Chapter begins on Sunday.
On the Fiction Book: Mourning for Cicero (tentative Title) -- Plotting out the plot and the characters. This is a bastardized version of a book I started working on during Summer 2001. It was about a group of businessmen negotiating to put a casino on Lower Manhattan after a Terrorist attack. I stopped that September; This book has a specific jumping off point in real world history: "The Bloody 8th." I'll figure out the rest.
From Sunday to Thursday, I work on Messages from the Valley; On Friday through Sunday, I work on the fiction book.
3) Looking at a Gym
This Sunday, I will checking out a Gym near Universal Studios. No matter what time I get done with work, I should have time to work out. Rain or no rain.

Listen to this:
The Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr. reminded America of a basic Human truth, as written in the Declaration of Independence: All Men are Created Equal.
His words became an idea that passed from his own people to the General Public; That idea spread to the pathways of power and created (with help from Republicans and Liberal Democrats): The XXIV Amendment and the Civil Rights Act of 1965.
Words create; A lack of vision is not a reason for power (just ask President George H.W. Bush or Senator Hillary Clinton), dreams inspire.
45 years from the "I have a Dream" speech, Senator Obama has a good chance of living Reverend King's Dream.
I leave you with the words from Lawrence of Arabia:

Welcome back to the Political News Network! Here is a round-up of yesterday''s caucuses' and Primary.
First, moving East to West, starting in South Carolina where the Republicans had their Primary.
Here are the results. Senator McCain made up for his 2000 loss and had the network to build a victory with. Huckabee and Romney followed behind. Romney is pursuing a strategy of coming in win, place or show. Romney is accumulating delegates, state by state. It might upshot the Convention.
Now, on to Nevada: Here are the results.
First, let's tackle the GOP. As mentioned above, Romney came in first, followed by a mile with Paul and McCain. Outside of Las Vegas is a large Mormon population; That would be a factor. Also, Nevada is still a "Western" state and still believes in the Frontier mentality. Hence, Paul.
Now the Democrats. In the prologue, the Culinary Union of Las Vegas endorsed Senator Obama; The Las Vegas Teachers Union endorsed Senator Clinton. The latter gave a lawsuit regarding Caucusing in the major Strip Hotels. The teachers (and by proxy, the Clintons), lost.
The Clinton won the Caucuses', then Senator Obama and finally, Senator Edwards.
But there is an Epilogue. According to this diarist on the Daily Kos (no Republican ally), there were shenanigans by the Clinton Campaign. Immediately thereafter, President Bill Clinton accused the Obama campaign of cheating, yet no proof was offered. And the reaction in the comments by the Democrats in the article, shows the remarks are not taken as truth.
The campaign continues; For more information on the election, visit Jason at Washington Interns Gone Bad. All forgiven. Until next time, this is PNN.

It's nice to be ahead of the trends. Check out the Wall Street Journal's article (And Donald Douglas' post) on Liberal Hate Speech.
And kudos for Senator Obama for making a real stab at Bi-Partisanship.
There are very few things in the Valley that Aurora and Jason agree upon -- but one thing that every commenter that has come here said is, "We don't want Hillary elected President,"
Why do I persist in this? It seems it is easy to say "We don't like/support/etc. Hillary." But when it comes to doing something, our allies on the Left don't follow up. They expend their energy hating Conservatives and Republicans. Read any Kos or Huffington Post comments.
Fine, my question is for those who Blog for the Left side of the Blogosphere and their Allies. What are you going to do to make sure she is not the candidate for the Convention? After 8 years of Liberal hate Speech, why should it be the Republicans job to stop her?
Post-Primary and Caucus results will be up tonight or tomorrow morning.

Originally, I was going to write on the WGA strike, but I am holding off until January 22 when Nikki Finke returns. She is the best person writing on the strike, I want my words to get to her than. Those waiting for that post, keep reading the Valley. Hollywood is always next door.
Other subjects:
1) Waiting on some more memory for the Laptop and I'm still learning how to use the wi-fi. However, the non-fiction book has begun. It is titled: Messages from the Valley. After the Introduction (I already did Title and Table of Contents pages), I will jump into the Prologue and First chapter of my fiction novel (still untitled).
2) Why the attacks last year on the Heathlander? Something I learned when I was a Democrat in NYC. You are who you are with. The Heathlander supports Hamas; The Heathlander writes for the Daily Kos. The Daily Kos supports Democrats. Thus, do the Democrats support Hamas? If they decry him, then the conclusion is no. If they say nothing, then yes, they support Hamas.
I recommend every Conservative Blogger finds a Bete Noire Blogger from The Daily Kos, MyDD, Huffington Post and study them and ask for Democrats to own up to their words. These are Democrats who cannot leave their "Rhetoric on the floor,"
But also find a Liberal Blogger that you can talk to, they are out there.
3) Here is a video I hope you enjoy. The Star Spangled Banner on the Mega-Zeppelin on July 4th in the movie, Southland Tales.

Welcome back to PNN -- The Political News Network! I hope you enjoyed this post by Jason about Michigan.
Not to belabor an earlier point, but because the Democrats don't believe in Democracy, the DNC refused to accept any votes in Michigan's primary. However, the Republicans proved how open they are to challenges by allowing Michigan's votes to count in their Convention delegation.
On the Democratic side, Senator Clinton faced token opposition (the only opposition the "winner" of the New Hampshire Primary likes), and Governor Romney (R-MA), son of Governor Romney (R-MI) won.
Senator McCain and Governor Huckabee finished a distant second and third. Here are the results.
Next up: South Carolina and Nevada!

Unanswered Questions: Hate Speech and Democrats

---------------------------------------------------------------
I published this post earlier this week, but the election got in the way, I will discuss it more at the bottom......
It seems the longer things change, the more they remain the same. If you read George Orwell's book, 1984, the Party [INGSOC] always called a Two Minute Hate. Today's Democrats, when they are not supporting Hamas, Hugo Chavez or President Ahmadinijad over President Bush spend much, too much time hating him and hating Republicans.
This post written by a lonely Professor (with two cats) dreams of an America without Republicans. And it is then called "a satire,"
On the Huffington Post, this post called for a Military Coup D'etat by the Joint Chiefs against President Bush. Also, dismissed as "a joke,"
Nicholson Baker wrote a book called "Checkpoint" about two men discussing assassination attempts on President Bush. Also dismissed.
Then, last year was a movie: Death of a President.
Or how about these books?
* I Hate George W. Bush Reader by Clint Willis;
* I Hate Republicans by Clint Willis;
* The Bush Haters Handbook by Jack Huberman;
* The GOP Haters Handbook by Jack Huberman
Hate Speech is defined: (n) Bigoted speech attacking or disparaging a social or ethnic group or a member of such a group.
What I don't get is all these "jokes" that call for the death of Americans have the same political view I have. What I don't seem to see, is how "Hate Speech" is legitimised for Democrats, but anathema for Republicans.
Can some Democrat please explain to me how all those links above are funny? Can some Liberal show me how rooting for other leaders other than your own leads to "Bi-partisanship?"
I will leave with a joke: What if Global Warming was real and drowned Malibu and Manhattan? There would be a lot less Democratic voters on the rolls. Ha ha.
...............
I hope you read all the links. This answers I want should be found between all my readers in the Valley. The question is, what can be done to end the Hate in the Democratic Party infrastructure?
The rules are simple, nothing is incumbent on the President doing anything or any Republican doing either-What can the Democrats themselves do to stop this hate speech?

Check your wallet.
Think, where do you need to show photo ID's?
1) You need them to go into nightclubs.
2) You need them to open bank accounts and when you write checks at supermarkets.
3) Want to get a drink? Show a photo ID.
4) Fly on a plane? Take a bus or a train? Show your photo ID.
5) Applying for a job?
6) How about renting a hotel room?
Today, before the U.S. Supreme Court is the case Indiana Democratic Party v. Rokita. The transcript is here.
My question is this: If we need ID's for all those things above, why not to vote? With all the problems of Illegal immigrants taking social security numbers, do you really believe your vote is sacrosanct? If no one can identify you, why should your vote count?

Let's catch up: Iowa caucus and New Hampshire Primary.
Rasmussun Polls have been the best this election season. Here, it is written that Senator Obama has the best chance of winning. The American Research Group Polls before the Primary had Senator Obama ahead of Senator by double digits. The Marist Poll had the same things.
All the pollsters guessed Obama's percentage (37%); They guessed McCain's win and the Republicans list of candidates. So.........How did Hillary win?
Here are my theories:
A) She had enough people in the counting rooms to change the votes in the Southern cities.
B) She brought enough people from outside the New Hampshire to skewer the pollsters numbers.
C) She made a deal with Devil.
Does anyone doubt that CNN will investigate? Yes, that was sarcasm.

Please join in the Valley of the Shadow Annual Fundraiser. We are raising $7,700. Please hit the Tip Jar here to contribute. Thank you.
-------------------------------------------------
We close off the day with a surprise. Entrenched incumbents, not upstarts, won the New Hampshire Primaries.
First, the results.
For the GOP, it proves that Senator McCain is President of New Hampshire (he won the state back in 2000); For the Dems, it shows a weariness of throwing Senator Clinton over the side.
To defeat the American Harold Saxon, Senator Obama has offered a vision of the future; Senator Clinton is still selling a bridge to the past. As someone who spent 5 times in a counting room after an election, the numbers that Senator Clinton won by do not add up, maybe a reporter can look into that.
In the Republican circles, it is still anybodies game. My candidate, Mayor Giuliani, can wait out Michigan and South Carolina; But the early winners need a second, but Romney has the most delegates. This can go all the way to this summer's convention.
Millions of dollars spent to win a state but not a bunch of states. Here are the questions for Michigan and South Carolina:
1) Who will eke out the next win among the Democrats, Senator Obama or Senator Clinton?
2) Will any Republican candidate solidify a lead before February 5, Super Tuesday?
Jason, you're up. What's your take?

Welcome sports fans to the PNN: Political Night News -- this is the first in a joint Blogger project between Jason, of Washington Interns Gone Bad and I. Enjoy the show!
Before we get to New Hampshire, let us briefly look back on the Iowa Caucuses:
For the Democrats, the end of inevitability of Senator Hillary Clinton and the rise of Senator Obama, with Senator Edwards sandwiched between both contenders.
For the Republicans, Governor Huckabee, then Governor Romney and finally, Senator Thompson.
What does it mean?
For the Republican candidates, it is still a jump ball. If Huckabee cannot maintain his lead in the next round of Primaries (till Nevada), he should exit before February 5th.
However, except for incumbent Presidents, Iowa rarely chooses the next nominee. The last time that occurred was 2004. Here is Iowa's history on choosing candidates.
If, as predicted, Senator McCain takes New Hampshire, his campaign will be given a second wind before South Carolina. Thompson needs to remain in the top three to remain viable by February 5. Giuliani (the Valley's choice) is holding his powder till Super Tuesday -- Take Florida or go home.
And now, Jason will explain the Democrats team. This is JSF until the post-game.

The Two Minute Hate as perfected by Democrats

---------------------------------------------------
It seems the longer things change, the more they remain the same.
* I Hate George W. Bush Reader by Clint Willis;
* I Hate Republicans by Clint Willis;
* The Bush Haters Handbook by Jack Huberman;
Ha ha.

The Next Ten Yards
Please join in the Valley of the Shadow Annual Fundraiser. We are raising $7,700. Please hit the Tip Jar here to contribute. Thank you.
--------------------------------------------
Every year, it looks like the Washington Redskins will make a dent in the playoffs, and every year they fall short. Each month is a series of Downs in a year full of Yards. As the Stranger says in The Big Lebowski: Sometimes you eat the bar, sometimes the bar eats you.
Where do I hope to move the football in 2008?
1) Throughout the Presidential Primaries, Jason, of Washington Interns Gone Bad, and I will comment on how the elections affect our respective parties. The reason I haven't commented on Iowa yet is because, it is still one half the picture. You can't judge the half a picture of Delacroix, nor can you judge a partial picture of Iowa without New Hampshire. Maybe someone can recommend Jason and I to Bloggingheads.tv?
2) I own a laptop, but it is still waking up. When it is fully awake, I plan on writing two books on there -- one fiction and one non-fiction. Some of the posts from the Valley might be seen in the non-fiction book. Hopefully, I will have them published by March 2009. Does anyone know any Literary Agents? Also, I now own a Casio Exlim EX-Z77. With that camera, I will take pictures and do Vlogs.
3) Some future posts for the Valley: How believing in Evolution means you cannot believe in Global Warming; Future California Encyclicals; How I went from a Liberal Democrat to a Conservative Republican (with a libertarian streak); More posts on the future of Hollywood with assorted strikes; Wilsonianism and Nixonianism; campaign issues, and finally, more sightings of Democratic Anti-Semitism (and Liberal Blindness to the issue).
4) A future link from Instapundit. And more incoming links to the Valley.
5) The local move, completed.
6) Valley of the Shadow objects to sell (via CafePress).
7) More money and fame by the next December 16th.
Hope to see you this year!
