Why 60 Minutes Reports on Abramoff and Madoff

As I counted previously, 60 Minutes errs on the side of the Democrats.

When there is a Democratic president in the White House, there are no Woodward or Bernsteins in the News media.

Heck, even Ben Bradlee doesn't investigate Democratic Administrations!

Woodward, Bernstein and Ben Bradlee

Even without Blogging, I can point 60 Minutes to Solyndra, Fast and Furious (NOT the cool movie series) and the closeness of Wall Street to President Obama.

And last I checked, Lobbying is a Legal profession in the Political Sphere.

My question: When will 60 Minutes learn to speak "Truth to Power?"

Fighting the System: Why the Avery Cates Series is Worth Reading

I am a sci-fi geek from way back.  I was into the original Star Wars and Star Trek growing up.

Before Peter Jackson came out with his version of Lord of the Rings, I saw the Bakshi version.

And when I discovered the Avery Cates series, I wrote about it after book three (The Eternal Prison).

When I first started reading the series, I always felt the best background music was this:

If you think we live in an Income Disparity NOW, read what happens when the hippies get together and decide that the world should go under One Government.  Here is a piece from The Electric Church:

"The streets of new York were always crowded, because no one had anywhere to go. Hovers zoomed by overhead, rich kids toys.  Nothing commercial went by hover -- all the shipping was automated, on specialized underground routes, though garbage was sometimes hauled in the air.  The...robots had all the jobs; they were self-healing, intelligent machines that never tired, never showed up late or hung over,"
-- Jeffery Somers, The Electric Church, pg 66

In a world of Cyborg Monks, Psychics and Police from the Government (called the System Security Force), Avery Cates is a low man on the totem pole. heck, anyone living below 23rd Street (the Flatiron building) has a limited lifespan.

Since this also a Politico Blog, keep this quote in mind:

"The misfortune of high minded intellectuals [in politics] is that, until it is too late, they remain unaware of the sudden waves of emotion which the majority can be swayed...of the shabby secret stratagems of ambitious men," -- Sir Harold Nicolson

The highest enforcer for the "Joint Council," in this Unified World is Richard Marin, the Director of Internal Affaits of the SSF.  Think of Marin as the Prefect of the Praetorian Guard in this New World.

He put Cates on the board to rid the world of the Electric Church.

There is blowback in the second book, the Digital Plague.

In the aftershocks of the Plague a Civil War begins between the Army and the SSF.  With Marin leading one group and Undersecretary Ruberto leading the other. There are cyborgs involved.  Keep your eyes peeled.
This all happens in the Eternal Prison.

So, the world the "Joint Council," built is smashed to pieces by book 4, the Terminal State.  But remember the psychics in Book 1, they're back!

And to parallel Marin is another character, Canny Oral.  His story ties into Unification.

I won't say how or why, just it leads to a satisfying conclusion in Book 5, the Final Evolution.

As I finished the last two books, this was Cates' theme:

As a Goth, I enjoyed reading this Dystopian series.  Ruins everywhere. The pre-unification Riots play a big role in the cities the books go through.

But the scariest place was Chengara Prison.  And until you read the series, you won't know why.

As a Politico of the Right, I can easily say "See, this is what happens when you try for a perfect world,"

I'm sure Cates would agree with me (before he killed me, of course).

The writing is tight.  Jeff Somers writes like a futuristic James Ellroy.  Except with Cyborgs and Dystopias.

The series is enjoyable, whether Cates is surviving against the Monks, Marin, Ruberto or Oral.  On a cold night, the novels can take you into this disintegrating world. While the novels start in New York, Somers brings his characters to different cities, changed by Unification, riots and war.  At times, you feel as if you are walking with Cates.

Read this series.  Tell your friends to do the same!

Fired up, in the Cold of Los Angeles!

Mom's better? Check!
Cold's gone? Check!
Ready to write? Here I am!

Sometimes it takes a simple thing to re-boot my own head (i.e. Get out of my own way); For me, it's eating at a California Pizza Kitchen reading the current issue of The Economist.

(if you ever want to convince me of almost anything, feed me)

OK, enough with the introductions, time to Blog!

Ready to Post, but Under the Weather!

Turkey, the Sick man of Europe by Punch magazine (UK)

Excitement! Drama! Dancing!

Is this a Bollywood flick?

It's the story of my life.

However, before I can write about Rising Los Angeles GOP Political Stars, Primary 2012, or Avery Cates, I am sucking on some Chicken Soup.

My 24 hour cold expanded 48 hours because I could not find the right pills (they were discontinued -- Boo! Hiss!).  I finally found their equivalent after searching throughout the Basin.

As I write this, I am finishing my soup and starting to wind down.  Posting, come Hell or High water (wait! This is LA! there are neighborhoods for both! :}) tomorrow.

I leave you all with a tune:

November 2011 Tip Jar (with ANOTHER Gothy Actress!)

Welcome to November!

The first day of November has been good to me; It makes up for a horrible October.

What happened? And what news?

The Artist in me will always go for slow reveal.  If I am able to raise $300 for this month, I will tell you in this post.  (So, please donate to the Tip jar).

I am going back to Blogging this month, I am on fire!

Again, I'm trying to raise $300 for my Tip jar. Any help is most appreciated.

And since I am a Goth (and Politco), allow me to introduce you a Goth Actress by the name of Kate Beckinsdale.

Her roles in the Underworld series and in Van Helsing cemented her in the Goth Actress Hall of Fame.

Enjoy! (And please hit the Tip Jar!)

All Hallow's Eve Movie Night -- Nosferatu

It's Halloween! The season for my Gothy brethren to bask in the world catching up with us!

Now that this bad month is over (Does anyone know if Mercury went Retrograde this month?), I can now get back to Blogging.

Tonight, I will be at the Monte Cristo celebrating the season (see above).  Hope to see you there!

And a lesson from this month:

If you're a friend, be a friend.  Don't spill stuff in confidence to win a virtual argument.  It may gain you a third heart attack.

And now, the classic silent from Germany, Nosferatu!

I will be back to Blogging this week! Get ready!

Saying a Prayer for My Mom

Another reason Blogging has been light this October is because my Mom is having surgery today.

The lead up (and the drama of last week and the many weeks of driving around the city) took up most of my time.

So, say a prayer for my Mom (and hit the Tip Jar too).

Here is a pic of my Mom down in San Pedro

Coolest Mom ever! Wish her well today.

And here is one of her favorite bands:

The Beatles, Twist and Shout (Live in Shea Stadium)

If you have my email or phone, give me a shout.

I am waiting here at Glendale Adventist.

Thanks.

UPDATE 10:00PM 10/27/11: Before I left Glendale Adventist, I saw the Doctor.  he called my Mom "A trooper," and she's going to be alright. (Yay! And there was much rejoicing!).  I bring her to her home tomorrow so she can rest.

Thanks everyone!

The Future of Campaigns (in LA, CA and the USA)

The core for any election is the Precinct captains.

And they need all the help they can get.

A 19th Century ideal should be met with 21st century technology in the coming decades.

I am happy to know someone who is working to bring the Southland into the future with Campaign technology.

If you're a Campaign manager, Party leader (or National Chairman) or candidate, watch this space.

Her name is Lillian Cavaliarii, and she is on the 50th ADC with me.

More news to follow. Watch this space!

Friends Over Party Labels 2: Jason Buckley

First time I wrote about this, I did it to protect my friend Alexandra and her Dad from the New York Post.

They did indeed stop after I wrote the post.

Lesson: Don't doubt the Power of My Words.

Motivational Poster Maker

Now, after a crazy week where I was betrayed by someone whom:

A) I trusted since he was a friend of a friend (thus I knew him in real time);
B) I did a major favor for him against his bete noir post-election (with a possible hit to my own reputation) without even a "Thank you," or benefit of the doubt on anything, in return;

However, this post is about a guy who disagrees with me on just about everything politically, yet is a good friend.

We both operated in DC as interns, me on the Hill for Rep. Zimmer (R-NJ-12) and Rep. Dan Miller (R-FL-13) during the 90's, and he was at the Democratic National Committee for the 2000 Election.  He stood up for his beliefs (even when he disagreed with his own party) and made a cool movie (Buy it)

He was here at the earlier iterations of the Valley, and I'm proud to call him a friend.

Ladies and gentlemen, meet Jason Buckley, IT guy, musician and humorist.

As a partisan, he gets that politics is people.  Jason is a professional in the field (even as he denies that he isn't); he can argue for issues and make me the butt of the joke so even I can laugh.

We've had some knock down, drag out fights, but he always respected my humanity (and the humanity of the people I'm trying to work with), so yes, my friend Jason "gets it,"

I think we're like "The Odd Couple," of California Political commentators: he settled down with a family in the Bay Area and I'm looking for a cute Goth girl to settle down with.  I support his goals to make lots of money to support his family, and he supports my goals to work with the California Republican party and Republicans on the Hill and (eventual) White House.

We don't have to agree on political visions to be friends, we just have to agree to support each other in our goals.

Last week, I posted a Day by Day comic and we both laughed at each other for our disagreement.  That's the way the world works.  I don't have to agree with him, or vice versa, but we work towards our goals, supportive of each other.

While he is a big fan of #Occupy Wall Street (he is supporting #occupyOakland -- or occupying folks who agree with them, that's another post) and I am a tea partier, he gets that America lives under a Two Party system.

Now, if it were up to me, Apple, Lucasfilms or Google would hire him for 6 figures tomorrow.  (Hint hint).

So even though we disagree, we're still friends.

That's the way politics is done for real.

My question: How many political friendships across the political line do you have?

In Praise of Chairwoman Barnett of RPLAC

At the last RPLAC meeting, everyone heard the sad news that Jane Barnett was stepping down in November.

First off, let me say without Jane at our lead, Los Angeles would not be primed for 2012 and beyond.

Alsmost a decade ago, we couldn't field a candidate once Rep. Rogan left the scene.  Now, thanks to Jane's leadership, we had Lydia Guitterez fight hard for her seat on Community County Board (she's a teacher and a great person, vote for her next time she is on the ballot!) and without Jane, there would have been no Battle in the South Bay with Craig Huey (Mr. Huey, take a bow).

And without Chairwoman Barnett, Election 2010 would have been a lot worse.  She stood up for our candidates across the basin when no one else would.

We are breaking through in 2012 because of her.  And she will be missed.

Chairwoman Barnett raised a large family, has worked in DC and LA and has re-built RPLAC to fighting shape.

She fought and beat cancer (which shows she can fight anywhere) and she is a sometime reader of the Valley.

In your going away, I want to raise a glass to toast Chairwoman Barnett:

May the Road Rise With You!
May you always have happy days!
May the GOP reward you for your good work with an Ambassadorship to some warm place!

Three Cheers for Chairwoman Jane Barnett!

Watch out for the Feedback!

Sorry if the Blogging has been sloppy.

While I am couch surfing, I had to take my Mom to work, as described here, to San Pedro.  Then she moved closer to her home on Olympic Boulevard at crazy hours, and finally (after post 2) she has returned to where she wanted to be: Full Time at Baudry.

Never doubt the power of Yours Truly using Words as weapons.

And now that I'm spiffed up a bit for my speech in November, time to use those Words to my advantage.

Three Videos and I'm writing tonight.

What Steve Jobs Said

In my week off, I read that Steve Jobs, creator of Apple, designer of the iPod and iPads (of which I own neither), passed away.

What he said here struck me as true.  To remember Steve Jobs, a post:

And of course, the famous Apple Ad:

The Bloggings will Now Continue.....

Sorry I took a week off.

I have been working on a few things: A Speech, a Fundraiser and a Goth GOP Group.

The speech I'm giving in November at the San Fernando Valley Republican Club.

The Goth GOP group is called: Right in the Dark; I just have some paperwork issues to finish.

And finally, I hung out with my Mom and Sis and saw Ides of March and had Umami Burger.  The movie review is later this week. And if you come to LA, try some Umami!

Now, a tune:

October 2011 Tip Jar (with a Twist of Gothy Goodness!)

Hello October!

This is the month before the year before Election 2012.

As a Goth, this is my favorite month; As a Politico, this is the month before the voters choose.  All hail autumn!

Since this is the beginning of the month, please hit the Tip Jar.  This month the number is (as always) $300.  Please hit the Tip jar for $300.  Thank you.

This month is the musician Tori Amos.  It's not that she sings Goth, but she was an inspiration for Neil Gaiman's Death in the Sandman series.  She has played the role of Muse to a great writer, so to this Goth, she remains a Muse and earns the role for this month.  (Yes, she is also a Muse for me as well)

And now, enjoy the pictures.

And finally, the art she inspired.  Meet Death from the Sandman:

America's Cold Civil War 2 (Or the Return of Catiline)

Motivational Poster Maker

Sequels suck.

Unless you count Empire Strikes back, G-dfather 2 and the Dark Knight

Among the partisans, something is going on.  I noted it back on the Crack on the Washington Monument post, I see it even more as we get closer to Election 2012.

Cicero Denounces Catiline by Cesare Maccari
It seems the Democrats and their Media Praetorian Guards are playing the role of Catiline, ready to destroy the Republic if their Champion does not win.

Who is Catiline and what was his role in the Roman Republic?

And his conspiracy?

Depending on such accomplices and adherents, and knowing that the load of debt was everywhere great, and that the veterans of Sylla, having spent their money too liberally, and remembering their spoils and former victory, were longing for a civil war, Catiline formed the design of overthrowing the government. There was no army in Italy; Pompey was fighting in a distant part of the world; he himself had great hopes of obtaining the consulship; the senate was wholly off its guard; everything was quiet and tranquil, and all these circumstances were exceedingly favorable for Catiline.

...

But most of the young men, and especially the sons of the nobility, favored the schemes of Catiline; they who had abundant means of living at ease, either splendidly or voluptuously, preferred uncertainties to certainties, war to peace. There were some, also, at that time, who believed that Marcus Licinius Crassus was not unacquainted with the conspiracy; because Cneius Pompey, whom he hated, was at the head of a large army, and he was willing that the power of anyone whomsoever should raise itself against Pompey’s influence; trusting, at the same time, that if the plot should succeed, he would easily place himself at the head of the conspirators.

...
Catiline and Autronius, having concerted measures with this Piso, prepared to assassinate the consuls, Lucius Cotta and Lucius Torquatus, in the Capitol, on the first of February, when they, having seized on the fasces, were to send Piso with an army to take possession of the two Spains. But their design being discovered, they postponed the assassination to the fifth of February; when they meditated the destruction, not of the consuls only, but of most of the senate. And had not Catiline, who was in front of the senate-house, been too hasty to give the signal to his associates, there would that day have been perpetrated the most atrocious outrage since the city of Rome was founded. But as the armed conspirators had not yet assembled in sufficient numbers, the want of force frustrated the design.

...

Of the first conspiracy enough has been said.
-- Sallust, the Conspiracy of Catiline, Chapter 16 -19

Let's start with President Obama's Praetorian Guard, Fareed Zakaria:

So, to defend President Obama and the Democrats, the cry went forth on June 20th, 2011: Change the Rules.

To keep going with the same trend (Change the Rules so Democrats can win!!!), we now have Peter Orzag, President Obama's  former OMB Chair (and shares the same birthday with yours truly by two years. Unlike him, I did not go to private school) wrote this:
 ...
"What we need, then, are ways around our politicians. The first would be to expand automatic stabilizers—those tax and spending provisions that automatically expand when the economy weakens, thereby cushioning the blow, and automatically contract as the economy recovers, thereby helping to reduce the deficit. A progressive tax code is one such automatic stabilizer ...
...

-- Peter Orzag, The New Republic, "Too Much of a Good Thing,"

Read the words I highlighted.  Just because President Obama is losing does not mean the American Polity is.

And one final shot in the Coming Cold War from Cataline sympathisers:

The comment — which came during a discussion of the economy — perked more than a few ears. It’s unclear whether Perdue, a Democrat, is serious — but her tone was level and she asked others to support her on the idea.

Please read those bolded words.  How different are these Democrats from the words of Catiline on the verge of his second conspiracy?

Will you not, then awake to action? Behold that liberty, that liberty for which you have so often wished, with wealth, honor, and glory, are set before your eves. All these prizes fortune offers to the victorious. Let the enterprise itself, then, let the opportunity, let your poverty, your dangers, and the glorious spoils of war, animate you far more than my words. Use me either as your leader or your fellow-soldier; neither my heart nor my hand shall be wanting to you. These objects I hope to effect, in concert with you, in the character of consul; unless, indeed, my expectation deceives me, and you prefer to be slaves rather than masters-- Sallust, Conspiracy of Catiline, Chapter 20

How different was Catiline from the Occupy Wall Street mobs?  Not very.

And here is Cicero's words, standing up for the Republic, speaking to the people of Rome:

Wherefore, O citizens, since a supplication has been decreed at all the altars, celebrate those days with your wives and children; for many just and deserved honours have been often paid to the immortal gods, but juster ones never. For you have been snatched from a most cruel and miserable destruction, and you have been snatched from it without slaughter, without bloodshed, without an army, without a battle. You have conquered in the garb of peace, with me in the garb of peace for your only general and commander.

[24] Remember, O citizens, all civil dissensions, and not only those which you have heard of but these also which you yourselves remember and have seen. Lucius Sulla crushed Publius Sulpicius5; he drove from the city Caius Marius the guardian of this city; and of many other brave men some he drove from the city, and some he murdered. Cnaeus Octavius the consul drove his colleague by force of arms out of the city; all this place was crowded with heaps of carcasses and flowed with the blood of citizens; afterwards Cinna and Marius got the upper hand; and then most illustrious men were put to death, and the spirits of the state were extinguished. Afterwards Sulla avenged the cruelty of this victory; it is needless to say with what a diminution of the citizens and with what disasters to the republic Marcus Lepidus disagreed with that most eminent and brave man Quintus, Catulus. His death did not cause as much grief to the republic as that of the others

[25]And these dissensions, O Romans, were such as concerned not the destruction of the republic, but only a change in the constitution. They did not wish that there should be no republic, but that they themselves should be the chief men in that which existed; nor did they desire that the city should be burnt, but that they themselves should flourish in it. And yet all those dissensions, none of which aimed at the destruction of the republic, were such that they were to be terminated not by a reconciliation and concord, but only by internecine war among the citizens. But in this war alone, the greatest and most cruel in the memory of man,—a war such as even the countries of the barbarians have never waged with their own tribes,—a war in which this law was laid down by Lentulus, and Catiline, and Cassius and Cethegus that every one, who could live in safety as long as the city remained in safety, should be considered as an enemy, in this war I have so managed matters, O Romans that you should all be preserved in safety; and though your enemies had thought that only such a number of the citizens would be left as had held out against an interminable massacre and only so much of the city as the flames could not devour, I have preserved both the city and the citizens unhurt and undiminished.

(Cicero's Third Oration against Catiline)

Can the Democrats in their hatred against President Bush, former Governor Palin or any of the Wisconsin Protests say the "city and the citizens [are] unhurt and undiminished,"

That's why this post is called the Cold Civil War 2 -- the slings and arrows of attacks have gone in one direction for so long (after Elections, and always needing an Emmanuel Goldstein) from Left to Right, that many people are shocked that the Blogosphere and new partisans of the Right are standing up.

Here is how the Left looks upon the Right: (the missiles are pointing in that direction. Hmmm)

USSR fighting the West
Conservatives and Republicans have dealt with losses (close and otherwise) by continuing forward.  Democrats lose, and they want to change the rules.  Don't believe me?

The Republicans were the Minority in the House for 40 years (and the Presidency from FDR until Ike) -- even then, no Republican ever thought of changing the Rules.

My question: Why are the Democrats taking their cues from Catiline?

Doctor Who -- Power of Kroll

It's Saturday night.  While I am Gothing, you can watch Doctor Who!

This week's episode is called the Power of Kroll, the fifth part of the Key to Time series.

This story is what makes Who not just a children's program in the UK, but one for adults as well.  The question of local tribes vs a Methane refinery (maybe they should have gone with pigs from Bartertown) is something that occurs with environmentalists today.

Oh, and K-9's voice walks and talks here.  See if you can find him!

Now, tonight at Ruin, it is the beginning of Right in the Dark.  If you want to see the birth of a new Republican group, be there (and also, if you want to be around pretty Muses and great tunes, do the same)

Here are some posts to look forward to this week:

A) The Long GOP majority -- I have time now to re-boot this;

B) If Democrats can't pass Appropriation Bills (since 2007!), why should they be re-elected?

C) How one bad person can define the Democrats (as it seems to happen on the Right -- turnabout is fair play folks!).

D) Is Civil War, part 2, coming in 2012?

And now, enjoy The Power of Kroll!

It turns out that the Platform issue was pushed back to Burlingame (Spring Convention 2012).  I will discuss this more throughout the fall.

Two POTUS candidates came to LA, one cheated. The other candidate already established a foothold in California.

They were Rep. Michelle Bachmann, and Rep. Paul (the cheater).  And the foothold candidate? Gov. Perry of TX.

VNN: Re-do the CAGOP Straw Poll or How Ron Paul Cheats

On the Air from the City of Angels and across the Blogosphere!

Off the record, on the QT, and very hush-hush.

"What are you laughing at? To the Victor belong the spoils!"

On Saturday, I met a guy at Lawry's while I had some Chili.  He had a tattoo on his head and all over his body; he is also a Joe F. and he was interested in the world that is LA GOP Politics (before going to the Merryweather fight next door).  After he told me some of the troubles within East L.A., I told him that in politics is that anybody, I mean anybody, can be involved and help their neighborhood by getting involved.  Republican Politics is about helping the individual against the mammon that is bureaucracy. I hope I helped point in a good direction.

However, every time Ron Paul and his Paulbots show up, it makes my job harder.  Especially when they cheat.

Let's roll back the clock to Saturday.

The Straw poll is supposed be a truthful measure of what California Republicans are thinking about the announced candidates.

Rep. Paul shows up in the morning before the poll begins.  That's fine.  That's his right, however, I hope at some point the Libertarians within the party pick a young Governor who actually ran his or her state like a Libertarian.

Unless the Paulbots are like Obamabots or Larouchites or Scientologists and maintain the cult of personality of Ron Paul.  Not healthy..

The Straw poll opened.

And then the cheating started.

First, here are a few reasons why Ron Paul has no standing with me:

1)  First, he attacked President Reagan (by quitting the GOP in 1987):

As a lifelong Republican, it saddens me to have to write this letter.
My parents believed in the Republican Party and its free enterprise,
philosophy, and that's the way I was brought up. At age 21, in 1956,
I cast my first vote for Ike and the entire Republican slate.

Because of frustration with the direction in which the country was
going, I became a political activist and ran for the U.S. Congress in 1974.
Even with Watergate, my loyalty, optimism, and hope for the future were tied
to the Republican Party and its message of free enterprise, limited
government, and balanced budgets.

Eventually I was elected to the U.S. Congress four times as a
Republican. This permitted me a first-hand look at the inter workings of the
U.S. Congress, seeing both the benefits and partisan frustrations that guide
its shaky proceedings. I found that although representative government still
exists, special interest control of the legislative process clearly presents
a danger to our constitutional system of government.

In 1976 I was impressed with Ronald Reagan's program and was one of the
four members of Congress who endorsed his candidacy. In 1980, unlike other
Republican office holders in Texas, I again supported our President in his
efforts.

Since 1981, however, I have gradually and steadily grown weary of the
Republican Party's efforts to reduce the size of the federal government.
Since then Ronald Reagan and the Republican Party have given us skyrocketing
deficits, and astoundingly a doubled national debt. How is it that the party
of balanced budgets, with control of the White House and Senate, accumulated
red ink greater than all previous administrations put together? Tip O'Neill,
although part of the problem, cannot alone be blamed.
...

Knowing this administration's record, I wasn't surprised by its Libyan
disinformation campaign, Israeli-Iranian arms-for-hostages swap, or illegal
funding of the Contras. All this has contributed to my disenchantment with
the Republican Party, and helped me make up my mind.

I want to totally disassociate myself from the policies that have given
us unprecedented deficits, massive monetary inflation, indiscriminate
military spending, an irrational and unconstitutional foreign policy, zooming
foreign aid, the exaltation of international banking, and the attack on our
personal liberties and privacy.

After years of trying to work through the Republican Party both in and
out of government, I have reluctantly concluded that my efforts must be
carried on outside the Republican Party. Republicans know that the
Democratic agenda is dangerous to our political and economic health. Yet, in
the past six years Republicans have expanded its worst aspects and called
them our own. The Republican Party has not reduced the size of government.
It has become big government's best friend.

If Ronald Reagan couldn't or wouldn't balance the budget, which
Republican leader on the horizon can we possibly expect to do so? There is
no credibility left for the Republican Party as a force to reduce the size of
government. That is the message of the Reagan years.

I conclude that one must look to other avenues if a successful effort is
ever to be achieved in reversing America's direction.

I therefore resign my membership in the Republican Party and enclose my
membership card.

(Written by Rep. Paul in March 1987)

And then Rep. Paul ran against  President Reagan's successor, not in the Republican primary but as a Libertarian in the 1988 general Election.  How loyal is Rep Paul? Not very.

Here is Rep. Paul attacking President Reagan on MSNBC (12/2/10):

2) He stands with Code Pink when it comes Foreign Policy

Isolationism works great in a pre-industrialized, pre-technological world.  As everything interconnects, there are only two foreign policy choices: Wilsonianism, (or neo-conservatism) which supports creating Democracies Overseas or Nixonianism (or Kissingerism) which negotiates with Dictators at the expense of their peoples.

During the last administration, Code Pink opposed Iraq; As did Rep. Paul and his Paulbots.

And as a Jew, I cannot stand that the Rep. Paul and his Paulbots act like President Obama in throwing Israel under the bus:

(From my friend Pamela Geller)

The US House of Representatives is now considering a government spending bill to fund the US government through the remainder of the year. Imagine that: when the world is teetering on the brink of major meltdown, the notorious anti-Jewish state hater, Ron Paul, wants to cut Israel off at the neck. His son is cut from the same anti-semitic cloth. I am no fan of these two imposters. Considering the billions and billions we send to our enemies, Paul wants to start with Israel?

The bill includes $3 billion in security assistance for Israel in addition to funding for Israel’s “Iron Dome” rocket defense system. Congressman Ron Paul (R-TX) plans to offer an amendment that would eliminate Israel's security assistance. If this amendment were to prevail, Israel's aid would be stripped out of the bill.

As a result, Israel would receive NO foreign aid for the remainder of fiscal year 2011.
The knave state is expected to save the world, bear the brunt of worldwide condemnation from cowards and quislings, and do it .....with no support. We will watch this vote and we will shame those who secretly support savages.

And here is more from Rep. Paul::

Paul: First off, [the Israelis are] under threat because we’re there. We’re a greater threat to them, and our polices, because they have assumed that we’ll [intervene] if they don’t do the right things for themselves.

Paul: I don’t know of anybody who can militarily threaten them. They have 300 nuclear weapons. Nobody’s gonna touch them. This notion that we have to support them over the Palestinians – we shouldn’t favor one over the other. It’s a very different problem over there. If you’re a Palestinian-American, you might not like [America's position on Israel]. I’m not saying you should support the Palestinian side or the Israeli side. I’m saying let them work it out.
So, Presidential candidate Ron Paul shares the same view of Israel as does President Obama (D-IL).  Thank you.

Now, let's hop in our TARDIS' to last Saturday:

After the Paul rally, the Straw poll opens at 9.  (If you have a State Party, keep this post in mind -- it can happen to you).

One of my friends forwarded me this email that s/he received from a Valerie.  Look at the bolded section:
----
"I'm not from Los Angeles, nor am I working with the official campaign there. I am just a volunteer  from
Indiana, working with Jun Dam and Grassroots for  Liberty.

"Long story short, about 70 straw poll tickets were inadvertently double booked. ..
"I wish Robert Vaughn would have just been upfront and told people that the tickets  were inadvertently double booked, instead of the suggestions of scams.  It sounds like there was way more turn-out than everyone anticipated, even accounting for the double booking, and things quickly got hectic."

And from someone I know on Facebook (Someone I thought was a friend -- long story):

Douglas Day you know they are paying people to come and vote for them in their straw polls?...that's why people like this are "winning",...a friend was paid $90 plus all entry fees expenses to go downtown today to vote for that idiot Ron Paul
----

If you have been reading the Valley for a while, you recognize Robert Vaughn from his lawsuit against RPLAC which I discussed here.  So, he has admittedly screwed up the CRP Conventions Straw Poll after trying to bring down RPLAC during Election 2010 -- how much can this guy get away with?

I say, re-do the straw poll knowing that Rep. Paul's people cheated.

The guy, Joe F., I told him the good things that the is within the Political world,. The Paulbots and Rep. Paul bring it dishonor.

Re-do the CRP Straw Poll.

My question: Why do Paul's people feel like they have to cheat to win?
