Governor Romney, standing where I had my Bar Mitzvah |
[Sorry for the delay, family health problems intervened -- I owe three posts.]
First, a song that mixes my love of Goth and my tradition:
Siouxsie and the Banshees, Israel (Live, with Robert Smith playing guitar)
When we on the Right talk about the Democratic Media Connection, we talk of Tina Brown of Newsweek and Jeffery Goldberg of the Atlantic.
People must have read my post "Follow the Jews," because there is a slow migration away from President Obama and the Democrats by the Jews! Even Minority Leader Pelosi whinged about it.
President Obama has to run on his record, not on "what he might/could have/should have," done. The reality of President Obama did not match the idealized President Obama who talked of cutting the debt and supporting Israel in 08.
Now, onto Jeffery Goldberg.
No one can doubt my friend, Pamela Geller's support of Jews and Israel, but everyone can doubt Jeffery Goldberg's support of the Right defenders of Israel. In Goldberg's eye, if you are not a democrat, you don't deserve support. If Jeffery Goldberg wants to hear Anti-semitism, all he has to do is turn on "Progressive," KPFK.
In every Republican room I have been in (In DC, Los Angeles and California), there is no question of support for the beleaguered Jewish State. Look at any Liberal protest (OWS and the anti-Bush protests [They weren't anti-war since the Left turned a blind eye at Libya and the drones]), there is little support for the ONLY Jewish state. And these are the people Goldberg chooses to make his allies.
Let's fisk Goldberg!
"Today is Tisha b'Av, the ninth of Av, a Jewish day of fasting and mourning. It is on this day that the First and Second Temples were destroyed. The Western Wall, in Jerusalem, is a retaining wall of the Second Temple. It is, especially on this day, a locus of prayer and reflection. It is also, on this particular Tisha b'Av, the location of a very important photo opportunity for an American presidential candidate.
"How vulgar is this?
"Very."
Or shorter Goldberg: How dare a Republican visit the Western Wall? It's much easier to support a President who says the right things then to join a politician (and a party) that wants to do the right things for the ONLY Jewish state in the world.
When did President Obama visit Israel between 2009 and 2012?
I challenge Goldberg to take a closer look at his allies and see if they support the ONLY Jewish State in the world. Oh, wait, he cannot defend Pamela Geller, how could he ever be open minded?
My question: When did Jeffery Goldberg sell his soul to the Democratic Party?
