Partisan smear campaigns, it's all the left know how to do since their own policies are so sadly lacking in substance. I don't know how things have gone over these past years in the U.S., but I can tell you that in Australia, whenever a leftist government is in power, the economy spirals out of control and then it takes several years for the right to fix it (unless the left have really done a hatchet on it)
