The Mirror Crack'd: The White Hot Hate and the False Civility

For a long time, I studied how the Two parties in American Politics acted:

The post 1968 Democrats (whom I've left in Summer 1992 -- but I learned Politics from the pre-1968 Machine Politicos)  have used Orwell's 1984 as a guide, not a warning.  I've already documented within the Valley, the Left's need for an Emmanuel Goldstein, now and forever.

On the Right, the Party used to follow the lead of the Country Club Republicans.  The Right would campaign on our issues while the post-68 Democrats would throw everything at our people.

The Mirror
After Bush, after Palin, after Tuscon, Don Surber wrote a piece that received cheers across the Right Blogospherre:
"For a decade, from the election of Bush 43 forward, the Left has lied and cheated as it tried to return to power. Al Gore made a mockery out of the American electoral system by being a spoilsport over Florida, which Bush indeed won by 537 votes. Dan Rather forged a document to try to derail Bush’s re-election. Twice Democrats stole U.S. senators from the Republicans. After voting to support the war to get by the 2002 election, many Democrats quickly soured on the war. The profane protests were cheered by liberals who misattributed 'dissent is the highest form of patriotism' to Thomas Jefferson; the words belong to the late historian Howard Zinn.

"Once in power, liberals were the opposite of gracious.

"For two years now, I have been called ignorant, racist, angry and violent by the left. The very foul-mouthed protesters of Bush dare to now label my words as “hate speech.”

"Last week, the left quickly blamed the right for the national tragedy of a shooting spree by a madman who never watched Fox News, never listened to Rush Limbaugh and likely did not know who Sarah Palin is.

"Fortunately, the American public rejected out of hand that idiotic notion that the right was responsible.

"Rather than apologize, the left wants to change the tone of the political debate.

"The left suddenly wants civil discourse.

"Bite me.
...
"The left wants us to be civil — after being so uncivil for a decade.

"Bite me."

There has been a break between the Old Ivy Educated leaders of the Right and the "local yokels," and Bloggers.  The break came because of Governor Palin.  The mirror began to crack.

In 2008, The Republicans elected (after years of complaining) a MODERATE Republican -- it was Governor Palin who brought the Conservatives to the polls.

Did anyone who wanted Republicans to vote for a Moderate on the top of the ticket, endorse McCain? NO.

After the 2008 election, the Conservatives and Republicans lost.  Senator McCain went back to the Senate and Governor Palin went back to Alaska.  Game over -- everyone moves on, right?  WRONG.

As detailed by Dan Riehl, the Elvis of the Right Blogosphere and Robert McCain, the Hunter Thompson of the same place, wrote multiple articles on how the Obama White House funded the false Ethics charges against the Governor.  Because of the worry of bankruptcy and the loss of energy working on Alaska problems, she stepped down on July 3, 2009.

And that's when Conservatives, Republicans and Tea partiers went from opposing to angry.  That is when the mirror cracked.

The Country Club and Ivy league Republicans who never fought back, saw fit to give ammunition to the Democrats by piling on Palin.  We, in the activist and Blogosphere trenches have gone to war against them.  We who have to defend and fight for our candidates still believe in having each others back.

Those like Kathleen Parker, David Brooks, Mike Murphy and David Frum do not know how to do is fight back against the attacks.  In their heads, it is easier to calculate how to help Democrats then to help the "movement Conservatives,"

Palin saw what happened under the Bush Administration when the leader turned the other cheek.  You can remember it here.

Turning the other cheek meant that the Left and Liberals would use any excuse to attack.  But President Bush turned the other cheek, what did it get Conservatives and Republicans? White Hot Hate from the Left.

Not much of a bargain -- no?

The Breaking of the Mirror July 3, 2009

What happened to Governor Palin reminds me of what Kyle Reece (Michael Biehn) said in the Terminator:

Listen, and understand! That Terminator is out there! It can't be bargained with. It can't be reasoned with. It doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until you are dead

The Left acts like the Terminator, needing a target (their current Emmanuel Goldstein) and doing everything (with their handmaidens in the media) to destroy the leader of the Republicans; Be it a President (I remember when everyone went after President George H.W. Bush -- another moderate in 1992), a Senator (Dole or McCain) or a former VP candidate.

When we on the Right realized turning the other cheek didn't work, and seeing how Governor Palin was martyred.  The tea parties along with the ground level activists and bloggers chose a new tact: Fight back or die.

Destroying Palin brought the Tea Partiers, Bloggers and activists together.  It brought that coalition against the "insider," Republicans  -- by breaking the mirror of demonizing Palin in 2009, the anger rose.

After Tuscon, the Dark Mirror and the New Mirror for the Right

And like clockwork, after Tuscon, the Left tried to demonize the Right and Governor Palin for something we had nothing to do with.

But this time, for the first time in forever, the Right fought back by forcing the Lrft to look into their own dark Mirror.

Neither Krugman's White Hot Hate or any other blame that came towards the Right (h/t Althouse) were proven true.

Michelle Malkin had two  posts forcing the Left to stare at their own Dark Mirror.  And let me tell you, they do not like it.

"Civility," was the new Left Code Word for "Shut up,"

The False Civility

Professor Glenn Reynolds ("Instapundit") called it right from the beginning:

"Part of Civility is supposed to be accepting a Democratic verdict even if it goes against you,"

As I've said earlier to the Left: WE DON'T BELIEVE YOU.

There was a reason Democrats and Liberals held onto the Congress for 40 years from the 50's to the 90's and today, they can barely hold onto Congress for 5 years.

Liberals don't believe in Liberalism, only Leftism (there is a difference).  A Liberal would fight for Rush Limbaugh's freedom of speech, a Leftist would try to shut it down.

And when will those manners of civility hold this President to account for these quotes to inspire his followers:

** Obama: “They Bring a Knife…We Bring a Gun”

** Obama to His Followers: “Get in Their Faces!”
** Obama on ACORN Mobs: “I don’t want to quell anger. I think people are right to be angry! I’m angry!”
** Obama to His Mercenary Army: “Hit Back Twice As Hard”
** Obama on the private sector: “We talk to these folks… so I know whose ass to kick.“
** Obama to voters: Republican victory would mean “hand to hand combat”
** Obama to lib supporters: “It’s time to Fight for it.”
** Obama to Latino supporters: “Punish your enemies.”
** Obama to democrats: “I’m itching for a fight.”

That is not Civility.  Asking for Civility now, when Democrats control the Senate and the Presidency is years late.

The Democrats who ran the Congress for 40 years knew civility, not the current generation of Democrats.  They (and their supporters) live in the White Hot hate.

But there is a cost, to quote the band Faithless,
"My story stops here, let's be clear,

This scenario is happening everywhere.
And you ain't going to nirvana or far-vana,
you're coming right back here to live out your karma.,"

That's why 2012 is a Republican year, we don't live in the White Hot hate and the public that doesn't follow politics daily saw who does.

Hint: It was not Governor Palin.  Even Charles Blow of the new York Times said so:

"Within hours of the shooting, there was a full-fledged witch hunt to link the shooter to the right....The only problem is that there was no evidence then, and even now, that overheated rhetoric from the right had anything to do with the shooting...

"The American people know it, too. According to a USA Today/Gallup poll released Wednesday, 42 percent of those asked said that political rhetoric was not a factor at all in the shooting, 22 percent said that it was a minor factor and 20 percent said that it was a major factor. Furthermore, most agreed that focusing on conservative rhetoric as a link in the shooting was “not a legitimate point but mostly an attempt to use the tragedy to make conservatives look bad.” And nearly an equal number of people said that Republicans, the Tea Party and Democrats had all “gone too far in using inflammatory language” to criticize their opponents. ...

"Great. So the left overreacts and overreaches and it only accomplishes two things: fostering sympathy for its opponents and nurturing a false equivalence within the body politic. Well done, Democrats. "

When there is President Palin, let's see how civil the Left is, until then, we on the Right must fight back.  The mirror, broken, will not be the same.

My question: Why do Democrats need the White Hot Hate and Emmanuel Goldstein's to survive?
