Senator Dole understands

----------------------------------------------
In all this talk of a former Press Secretary echoing Democratic party talking points, Senator Dole, a veteran (which seemed important to Democrats in 2004, but not 1996 or 2008), stated simply:

There are miserable creatures like you in every administration who don’t have the guts to speak up or quit if there are disagreements with the boss or colleagues. No, your type soaks up the benefits of power, revels in the limelight for years, then quits and, spurred on by greed, cashes in with a scathing critique.

In my nearly 36 years of public service I've known of a few like you. No doubt you will 'clean up' as the liberal anti-Bush press will promote your belated concerns with wild enthusiasm. When the money starts rolling in you should donate it to a worthy cause, something like, 'Biting The Hand That Fed Me.' Another thought is to weasel your way back into the White House if a Democrat is elected. That would provide a good set up for a second book deal in a few years because if all these awful things were happening, and perhaps some may have been, you should have spoken up publicly like a man, or quit your cushy, high-profile job.

That would have taken integrity and courage but then you would have had credibility and your complaints could have been aired objectively," Dole concludes. "You’re a hot ticket now, but don’t you, deep down, feel like a total ingrate?"

Unlike Democrats, Republicans always seem to get published when they "Fight the Power," of their own party.

Help me prove my point, name me Five (5) books written by Democrats during a Democratic administration that savages that same Democratic administration. I can only think of one. If there is less then five (5), Democrats can stop saying "Republicans and Conservatives walk in lockstep,"

  1. JSF, you're the only person I've seen who has managed to turn this into a partisan issue! Bravo to you for ignoring what this guy has actually said and try to paint your party as being so unfairly persecuted. Do McClellan's accusations bother you in the slightest? Once again I must ask if your party is more important to you than your country. And the excuses start to fly in 3, 2, 1...

  2. Jason, this is pretty funny. Didn't MacNamara criticize Nixon during VietNam or just after or whatever, I seem to recall something like that happening. I was originally going to say that veteran status like anything else is only important when it is meshes with whatever agenda is being pushed, but either party. I think in previous years veteran status didn't matter nearly as much. McClellan's accusations bother me, but I am glad that he has the right to make these accusations and I hope they will get a fair hearing. Then again I am now a Libertarian, so I've evolved.

  3. Malcot, I am a fan of anyone who is willing to stand up and tell the truth. I think JSF is a little bitter because all the bad stuff is coming out about a guy he still supports, so he tries to find nefarious reasons for it. I know how he feels. I somewhat reluctantly supported Clinton, but the more I read about the guy, that support has waned considerably (there's a current piece in Vanity Fair about Clinton's post-presidential years that should not be missed by anyone of any political persuasion!). But then again, I'm a bitter and cynical leftist who refuses to join any party and only begrudgingly votes democrat.

There is only one person (JSF) keeping track of comments, so as long as what you write is civil and close to the purpose of the post, you will see it.

Keep this in mind: Politics should not be Personal; then you have a place here.
