Saturday Night Movie Night -- The Crow

As I am coming off of Goth Mode (see the earlier posts), here is a movie that helped define the scene.:

The Crow.

It starred the late Brandon Lee, son of the Great Bruce Lee.  It was directed by Alex Proyas who wrote and directed the awesome Steampunk movie, Dark City. 

This week, as we get into slow dog days of summer, I will Blog about these subjects:

Doctor Who -- Talons of Weng-Chiang

Weekend in the Valley only means one thing: Doctor Who!

Sorry for the long delay, but personal, professional and other etc. got in the way!

 

This story stars the Fourth Doctor and Leela solving a mystery in Victorian London called the Talons of Weng-Chiang.  An early Steampunk episode before Steampunk became steampunk (I just read Boneshaker and hope to read the sequel Dreadnought by Cherie Priest).

 

In other news, I am now New media (of course) and a delegate for the California Republican Party Spring Convention.  I might have Robert McCain in town to do a Gonzo Roadtrip from LA to Sac, and back again.  However, I am still chasing a place to stay.  If you have any contacts who can help (or willing to put funds down for a Hotel room with Wi-fi), email me.

Doctor Who -- Pyramids of Mars

Tonight, a Doctor Who steampunk/mummy episode!

Before I get into the video, first news of the Southland Fundraiser.  The pre-project is done.  Now, waiting for the second conference call to figure out when I begin.  (cross fingers, say prayers). 

Also, I would like to note the prominence of Trinities in my life (I am the silent third):

Right now, I want to thank my Mom and Sis for helping me during this time.  The family trinity.

My closest friends out here are Ron and Lynne. Good people to know.

There are two mentors on Capitol Hill, Karv and Todd.  They are a good lighthouse towards my goals 

And on the Southland Fundraiser, there are multiple layers of three:

1) Gary Aminoff and Robert Stacy Mc Cain are the men who will bring the activists and bloggers to the Southland Fundraiser.

2) Ryan Panzerello and Maya Buki, if they say yes, I begin; and finally,

3) The LAGOP and CAGOP are those being promoted by the project.

Without a strong closeness of friends and family, no one can move forward for their dreams.  As I say, "You can't fight City Hall -- ALONE," Thank G-d for the social networking tools or I would never have gotten this far.
