First, I want to thank everyone who visited the Valley over the past two days. Over a thousand hits and many people who explored and wandered around. Please come back again.
That post, I consider my "The Lights are going out in Europe," speech. The Left and the media drew blood against a family of a sitting Governor whose only sin was to campaign against President Obama. She's a martyr, but the mourning is done, action will be coming forth.
The Republican Encyclicals start again this week. Very timely issue: How to deal with the press. Keep reading.
Now, some personal thank you's:
My friend Madison in Burbank and another friend in Tarzana helped me move from sadness to anger to writing. Thank you.
The post was linked by Dan Riehl of Riehl World View, Robert Stacy McCain of The Other McCain and the Valley was Blog of the Day on William Jacobson's site, Legal Insurrection. Gentlemen, thank you.
Interesting thing on The Other McCain's link to the post, you have Liberals arguing for an American Aristocracy. Way to go! You did what I thought you would do.
Next, my Sister is working on a show in Atlanta, Georgia. This week, she met and worked with an American legend, Liza Minnelli. Woo hoo! My sister said she was a class act, but I think that my sister is a class act. She is hip and cool, and rightfully so. My Mom is visiting her this weekend, so any readers of the Valley down Atlanta way, please give both these wonderful people your usual southern hospitality. Both are great people.
Now for the new readers who wandered over to the Plague year; Yes, I have the disease, but it a part of me, but it does not run my day. I am a Jew, Political activist, Conservative Republican, New York Yankee fan, Washington Redskins fan, Doctor Who fan, Goth and bibliophile before I even think about it.
The anger post plague year came not from the disease but from the hypocrisy shown to me.
And the lack of Magnanimity shown since 1/20/09 by either the media or the Left.
This weekend, I am hanging out with Becky. Blogging will be sparse till Monday night. If you want to be at the first (unofficial) meet up of the Valley, I will be at Malediction Sunday night listening to the dark stylings of DJ Amanda Jones. Find me on the patio.
Until the next post, thank you all! (especially the reader from Morgan Stanley in NYC).

Living in Andrew Sullivan's America
I've had a hard week. Still dealing with some extenuating circumstances with the Plague year, and I've been shaken to the core in my beliefs about America and the rules of engagement with Liberals.
I call myself a quiet patriot. Having been a partisan for both the Left and the Right, I know why people come to the beliefs they do. All of us partisans, elected officials and staffers have our own vision of Utopia America. Part of mine is that:
1) America is the land of Second Chances and re-birth. This is why I am a Conservative. Everyone sins, but we are all human. And since only G-d is flawless, redemption should always be available for those who follow through. America is redemption.
2) Anyone in America can rise as long as s/he can do the job. period. End of story. If any of my family or friends (very few Ivy's among them) decide to run for office or start a company, I will support them. If they rise and become even more successful, G-d bless 'em. Palin started as a Mom on a PTA board who became a Vice presidential nominee -- isn't that the American story?
Well, according to Andrew Sullivan, still a citizen of the Crown (that's UK folks), that is not his America. Let's look at what Andrew Sullivan's America looks like (and remember, he is not a citizen):
A) Gay marriage and Gay rights -- I'm not a social Conservative, but I understand his views here. This is not why I hate him.
B) Caste System in America -- Like Palin, many of us could not or did not go to an Ivy College. In Andrew Sullivan's America, if you never went to the Ivies, then you shouldn't run for office or be in public life. After all, he went to Oxford and Harvard, so he knows better then you in your hometown.
C) Attacking Woman and families are fine -- After all, this Blogger did not stand up when Andrew Sullivan attacked Trig or when David Letterman went after Willow and Bristol. According to this Blogger, you see, if there is an R next to the elected woman officials name, it is fine to attack their family. No one on the Left stands up and says it's wrong. Even though that right wing nut, Speaker Tip O'Neill wrote on page 35 of his book, All Politics is Local, to never attack families under any circumstances. There were no asterisks or pauses. Just "No attacking families," If Andrew Sullivan and David Letterman are allowed to attack Palin's family, I think it gives the Right the right to attack Malia and Sasha.
D) If Sullivan supports a candidate, no dissent is allowed. See this post by Andrew Sullivan. And to think, for 8 years we heard "dissent is patriotic," Strange how things change.
E) On Foreign Policy, it's OK to talk about democratizing the world, even report about it, but the President should do nothing. And our ally, Israel? Give it to the Palestinians. How is that different from the view of President Ahmadinijad. This is why he is not a citizen of the US, he talks and writes and never lifts a finger for his fellow man. This is why I hate him.
E) Woman should not be in office -- Sullivan found fault with Ferraro (first Woman VP candidate), Senator Clinton and Governor Palin. If you're a woman, Sullivan thinks you should stay home. How is that different from the Taliban? I support any strong woman (especially a Republican one), he does not.
F) Courts know better then Legislators and Democratic Presidents know better then Congress -- neither of which are Conservative views. Aren't you happy that in Andrew Sullivan's America, your vote does not matter?
When Andrew Sullivan forced Governor Palin to step down by his continual (and unrelenting) attacks (Had he never read Churchill's quote: "In War, Resolution; In Defeat, Defiance; In Victory, Magnanimity," Obama won and was inaugurated on January 20th, where is the magnanimity?), he brought America one step closer to his vision of America.
I do not want to live in Andrew Sullivan's America. Neither should you.
UPDATE: 7/9/09 12:30PM PST: I actually contacted The Atlantic and asked they can please tell Andrew Sullivan to cool it. He did for a few minutes. I wrote back saying, I will move on if he apologizes to the Palin family, in person. If they unanimously agreed to his apology, so would I.
Remember, Andrew Sullivan calls himself a "Christian," but does not turn the other cheek. Look at how he treats Palin.

July 4th, 2009
Every year, at this time, I read one book: Patriots by AJ Langguth.
This July 4th, Democrats and their friends in the media show they want to bring back Aristocracy and damn the next Cincinnatus. So, this July 4th, I am angry. Frank Herbert was right.
For now, here is the best part from Patriots, the creation of the Declaration of Independence:
"When members of the [Continental] Congress came to Jefferson's stirring conclusion, a majority thought it should include one last appeal to the power even greater then George III....They did not meddle with Jefferson's last oath, more solemn than anything they might devise:"
'And for support of this declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortune and our sacred honor'
"On July 4, 1776, Independence was declared in language worthy of it."
-- Patriots, AJ Langguth, pg.362
Read for yourself, the Independence from Kings and fiefdoms, the Declaration of Independence.
Happy July 4th!
Cincinnatus died yesterday; George Washington would be annoyed but King George III would be pleased with the Left.

Palinaphobia -- My Messages to the Left and the Right
First, the lady of the hour (and of 2008 and 2009), Governor Sarah Palin (Transcript here):
And now, my message to the partisans on both sides. First, my "friends," on the Left:
You wonder your little heads why we're angrier then usual? First, you make Emmanuel Goldsteins of us, then you look slyly when Andrew Sullivan personally attacks the family of a Republican politician. I've said here what you folks need to do to calm my anger.
I see, now, that you just don't give a damn about Americans whose belief differs from yours. Well, by making Governor Palin a martyr (oh yes she is, you cannot walk back that cat.), any line of civility in my heart is gone.
Lawsuits upon lawsuits? Just like you did to Newt, Delay and Palin? Karma answers back and I have no pity if a Democratic Vice Presidents daughter is found with drugs, I might promote it every damn day. Don't like it? Don't start it.
Final warning. Clean up your act. By destroying Palin, a non Ivy Governor of a state, you have proven to be the party of "elite," My curse upon you: May every Democratic President (including Obama) and Governors families be treated the way Governor Palin's was. I will not excuse the attacks on any Democrat official or partisan anymore.
For the Right:
This is war. Governor Palin has been attacked only because she stood up against Obama. It is time to take the sadness and civility from our hearts and replace it with fury and action. Churchill always wrote, ACTION THIS DAY memos. Here is mine:
1) First, I want Andrew Sullivan's head. Either cut off in the states or sent with his body attached back to England. He must pay for breaking the oldest rule in politics: Attacking a politicians family. Even Speaker Tip O'Neill wrote how wrong it is. People like him never learn.
2) Find out everything about Todd Purdum. Post his home and cell info on the major blogs. He is a supplicant for Obama, I'm sure some Hillary supporters can help us here.
3) The News media is our Dardanelles. We start fighting a two front war. More discussion next week in the Encyclicals.
4) Every frivolous lawsuit set against a Republican leader means we do TWENTY against their leaders. We suffer? So do they.
5) President Obama cannot Govern. Show examples to people every day. Unemployment is high and getting higher. There are no Republicans to oppose Obama and the Speaker. We remind people of this every day until November 2010 and 2012.
G-d Bless you Governor Palin! You have my blessings in whatever you do (I will join your Presidential campaign in an instant because you always punched back against your attackers. We need more of that in the GOP).
The Second Civil War has begun and Governor Palin is our Fort Sumpter. Time to shoot back.

Bliss.
Life is never perfect, but sometimes in life, the perfect things happen.
I've just gotten over the Plague Year, and recently I'm still handling problems based on it (no, those problems will not reach the Valley, I am saving them for the Political and Policy realms. Some stuff is too good to argue here).
My sister is working hard down south on a show. I'm happy she is doing well. My Mom is succeeding in her life, always a good thing. And now, even with the extenuating problems from the plague year, I met a nice girl named Becky who makes me happy.
She's a Goth, just like me. She's an artist (musician and filmmaker) and she said the magic words to a young single guy: we are not exclusive (however, if she wants exclusivity, I am there too). Becky is the right person for me right now after the Plague year, she makes me happy and I return the favor. Sometimes, it's the simple things that work. As I plan to move to DC, she is looking towards Washington State. Different goals, but enjoying the moment in Los Angeles.
As we get close to the July 4th holiday, I have one more political post (then the holiday post). The Encyclicals (being read on both coasts by major Politicos) will start again after the Fourth. Part two begins.
Life has bumps in the road, ride them through and you get Bliss.
