Contrary to the 9/11 Truthers, Democratic Talk Show Hosts, and isolationists, there will be a multi-tiered election. Some Governors, some Senators, all Representatives and one President.

During his campaign, Governor Bush acknowledged America's two term support of President Clinton (even during impeachment), will any Democratic candidate acknowledge the reverse since 2000?

Will any Democratic Presidential candidate cite: Politics stops at the Waters Edge?

Given the actions of the Democrats in the last few years, I don't know if any Presidential candidate can reach a bi-partisan consensus. Republicans are skilled about crossing party lines to get things done, will the current crop of Presidential candidates prove that as well?

  1. For the Democrats, politics doesn't stop anywhere. They have no interest in the good of the country. Their sole goal is regaining the White House. Every other consideration is secondary or irrelevant.

  2. No politician regardless of party will abide by Vandenberg's dictum.
For a politician of either party to admit that Senator Vandenberg was correct would in the cureent climate be akin to political suicide.

In my mind such admission by a politician of either party would be like the Israelis and Palestinians admitting that Abba Eban was correct when he asserted that:

History teaches us that men and nations behave wisely once they have exhausted all other alternatives.

Having said that I am reminded of another of Eban's maxims which supports Senator Vandenberg's dictum: A statesman who keeps his ear permanently glued to the ground will have neither elegance of posture nor flexibility of movement.
